Marshall Hyundai dealership burgled twice in 24 hours

Date:

Police have arrested two men after Marshall Motor Group’s Hyundai dealership in Worcester was targeted in two burglaries in the space of 24 hours.

Two new Hyundai SUVs, including a 2021 plate valued at around £28,000, were taken in the first raid at the Marshall Hyundai car dealership in Worcester’s Everoak Industrial Estate, Bromyard Road, in the early hours of Sunday (November 29) morning.

One vehicle was recovered in a damaged state a short distance away and the other in Little Witley, near Worcester.

It is believed the suspects returned on Monday at around 10pm, having stolen keys to the facility during the first burglary, Worcester News reported.

Six laptops, two iPads, a Fire TV Cube, a camera, some reading glasses and a torch were stolen in the second raid.

A police spokesperson told Worcester News: “The first car stolen was used to destroy the security bollards at the Hyundai garage and drive the other car out.”

Police confirmed that they had arrested two men in connection with the burglaries and had recovered the majority of the stolen property.

The suspects have been bailed under curfew while officers continue to make enquiries, including forensic and digital investigations.

Marshall’s Hyundai Worcester was one of 48 car retail sites acquired by Marshall when it completed the takeover of Motorline in October last year.

The business was the Korean car brand’s UK Dealer of the Year in 2020.
