Mario Golf Super Rush has only been out for just a few days, but a handful of characters have already positioned themselves ahead of the rest in this game. Whether curving shots, power, spin, or special shots are their specialty, there’s just something about their golf games that puts them at a higher level. These are the best characters you can pick in Mario Golf Super Rush.
The only potentially great character not included on this list is the Mii since it also has the potential to be abysmal depending upon how you distribute your stats. But these five characters listed will always give you a leg up on the competition in most game modes.
Boo
Mario Golf Super Rush Best Characters
Boo has good enough power to keep up with most characters in Super Rush. With a max driving distance of 210 yards, Boo won’t just launch long shots all day, but it should be enough distance to not drop too far behind the likes of Bowser and Wario.
On top of that, Boo has an excellent Dash in Speed Golf which covers a wide area. Boo itself is kind of a small character, but its charge, Boo Carousel, calls on the help of other boos to form a ring that covers a much larger area. This makes it much easier to knock around other players. On top of that, Boo can float over hazards like water and lava to reach balls faster in speed golf.
It’s also important to note that Boo is one of the best at shooting curve shots. But you’ll need to master this ability in order to fully utilize Boo.
Bowser

Bowser has the best power stat in the game. This tyrant has a 228-yard drive that only a few other characters can come close to matching. Thanks to his overwhelming power, there’s no par 5 hole where you should score worse than a birdie unless you mess up a few putts.
Even though this lumbering lizard is one of the slowest characters in the game, his dash is one of the absolute best in the game. Yes, Bowser’s big frame makes him a giant target, but it also means he can more easily take out multiple targets. Bowser’s extremely fast dash sends him into a ground pound, then charging forwards while spinning and spitting out flames in a circle.
It’s great because it gets opponents who wander too close to Bowser and one that are further down the course.
Donkey Kong

Donkey Kong is another powerful golfer with a max driving distance just under Bowsers at 225 yards. However, his other stats are the same as Bowser’s. He’s essentially just a less powerful Bowser, which is still very good. A difference of 3 yards in the power stat isn’t going to make a huge difference when the accuracy of the player matters more.
Donkey Kong’s special shot, Burly strike is just a basic power shot that knocks balls away on contact with the ground. It’s not anything over the top, but it gets the job done and adds to his already high power stat. Save your shot for when your opponent’s balls are all close together for the best result with this shot. Or use it tactically to send a ball falling off of a cliff.
DK’s special dash isn’t as easy to control as some of the others on this list, but it still covers a lot of area just like Bowser’s. It starts with him slamming the ground to knock back nearby opponents, then rolling to hit other players further down the course.
Rosalina

Rosalina is essentially a god, so of course, she’s going to be extremely good at anything she does. And that includes golf. She has a slightly lower power stat than DK and the rest of her stats are fairly balanced. It’s incredibly easy to pick up and play with Rosalina since she’s decent in every category.
And just like Boo, Rosalina can float over hazards like water, ice, and lava. However, you’ll lose stamina while doing this and fall in if you run out. Still, floating over any distance of these hazards is a massively important ability to have since you’ll be able to take shortcuts that other players can’t in speed golf.
But the best thing about Rosalina is without a doubt her special shot, Shooting Star. On impact, this will cause your opponent’s balls to turn into Star Bits. This will make them roll and fly erratically on their next hit. Use it to make your opponents hit balls into the rough, or do it on the green to make putting a pain for your enemies.
Wario

Last but not least is Mario’s evil twin, Wario. If this was a Mario Golf Super Rush best-dressed list, then Wario would still be top-tier. But he’s still a fantastic power golfer too with some dangerous moves that set him apart from the competition. He’s still not as strong as Bowser, but he has the same power stat as another great character in Rosalina.
Wario’s Jet-Pack Dash is different from many others in the game in that it allows a character who normally can’t pass over hazards to fly right over them. The only drawback is that since Wario takes to the air, it’s very difficult to hit enemies. But at least he has plenty of stamina so he’ll be able to use it plenty of times to take advantage of shortcuts over hazards.
Wario’s Lighting Blast is a useful special shot, but you need to plan out your use of it in order to get the most of its ability. The effects of Lighting Blast will only activate once your opponents hits their ball hard enough within the area of where your shot landed. Your best bet will be to aim for balls that are far from the hole so your opponent will have to choose to hit short shots or face the wrath of a lightning strike.
