Malta Gambling Regulator Suspends Rush Gaming License

Date:

The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has revealed that it has suspended Rush Gaming’s license. This impacts the online gambling operator’s brands straight away, with its Onebet and FansBet platforms no longer able to offer products in MGA jurisdictions.

These offerings provided sports betting and online casino games to customers. The FansBet website currently displays the following message: “Access to this website is currently restricted and limited to login and withdrawal purposes only. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.”

MGA did not provide any specific reasons behind the decision

The MGA did not provide any specific reasons behind the decision, only revealing that suspensions occur when operators break gambling-related laws or regulations.

Rush Gaming still has to allow its users to log into their accounts during the suspension periods and also needs to refund all deposits. The company may appeal the regulator’s ruling under the Gaming Act’s Article 43.

The MGA has been increasing efforts to cultivate a safer online gambling environment for players. It carried out 40 responsible gambling compliance checks in the first six months of last year and issued about $792,580 in penalties. Charles Mizzi is taking over as CEO next month.
