“The new owners built it and didn’t get to really enjoy it at all, so we walked into basically a brand new home,” he says.

“Even though it’s large it still has a real warmth to it and is a beautiful family home.

“Because we’ve got five children between us who were all teenagers at the time, we obviously needed somewhere with space.

“The main kitchen and living area is basically where we’ve spent most of our time.

“You can sit there either at the kitchen table or outside under the veranda and you can see everyone in the pool or on the tennis court.

“The kitchen doors all concertina open so it’s literally like the outside coming in.

“The swimming pool got a lot of use over the years and the tennis court got used a lot for cricket games, but parties were where it really shone.

“We’d put the lights on, have big marquees up and we’ve celebrated engagements, 18ths, 21sts and pre-formal drinks – it looks stunning once it’s all decorated, and then you’ve got the hills backdrop behind you, which almost makes it look even bigger.”

The home offers 708sq m of indoor and outdoor living space over its three levels and is packed with luxury at every turn.

Some of it was there when they arrived, and some of it was added by Neil and his family.

“We wanted it to stand the test of time, so for the alterations we made, we paid the money, as we wanted quality,” he says.

As well as the aforementioned court and pool, the home has up to six bedrooms, a home office, a four-car garage, a home theatre, a gym, a spacious open-plan living and dining area, an entertainers terrace and a pool pavilion.

“It really has been the most incredible place to live for the past 12 years, but we’re ready for a seachange and it’s time for another family to love it as much as we have,” Neil says.

“It deserves to be enjoyed.

“We will really miss it, as we will the location – it’s just so close to everything.”
