Knowledge Discovery, Data Gravity, and AI: Usama Fayyad & Gregory Piatetsky-Shapiro on the Data and AI Legends Podcast

“Imagine that Earth receives a signal from outer space, and you are trying to decode it. Current #AI systems are in a similar situation – for them, humans are like aliens from another planet. Public understanding of AI applications usually goes through a phase shift, from “it cannot be done” to “of course, a computer can do it”.  One philosopher even wrote a whole book arguing that a computer will never defeat a grandmaster. Then Deep Blue defeated world champion Garry Kasparov in 1997. Now people take it for granted that a computer can beat a human in almost every game.”

Tune into this week’s episode of Data and AI Legends “Knowledge Discovery, #Data Gravity, and #AI ” with my good friend Gregory Piatetsky-Shapiro, Founder of KDnuggets. In this episode, Gregory wears his data miner hat (literally) and shares his learnings over the last few decades.
