K23 suspend Solaar amid coaching bug abuse allegations

Date:

The K23 organization stated that it has begun looking into the situation and vouched to help any tournament organizer with information that could aid with the investigation.

Aset “Solaar” Sembiyev‘s case was brought to the public’s attention by freelance referee Michal Slowinski, who posted a video on Twitter from K23‘s match against FATE in Eden Arena Malta Vibes Cup 8, in which the 33-year-old apparently exploits the bug that made it possible to view any location on the map in real time.

Solaar faces allegations of abusing the coaching bug

This case follows several others brought to light by Slowinski and Steve Dudenhoeffer over the course of the last week. On Monday, Ricardo “dead” Sinigaglia, Nicolai “HUNDEN” Petersen, and Aleksandr “zoneR” Bogatiryev received bans in ESL’s and DreamHack’s competitions for six to 24 months after using the exploit in ESL One: Road to Rio or DreamHack Masters Spring.

The Brazilian and Danish coaches have been suspended from MIBR and Heroic, respectively, while zoneR has been removed from Hard Legion altogether. Meanwhile, the Russian side also faces allegations regarding their assistant coach, Erik “AKIMOV” Akimov, who was accused of abusing the bug as well in Eden Arena: Malta Vibes Cup 3.

The organizers of the tournament in question, Eden Esports, have yet to comment on the situation.
