At the IQT The Hague conference, Dr. Fabiana Da Pieve will bring a wealth of expertise from her distinguished career in quantum physics and European policy. As a Programme and Policy Officer at the Directorate General for Communications Networks, Content, and Technology (DG CNECT) of the European Commission, her role encompasses pivotal areas in the development and strategic direction of quantum technologies and post-quantum cryptography within the European Union.

Dr. Da Pieve’s journey in the quantum realm began with her doctoral research in Physics in Rome, where she explored decoherence in continuous-variables entanglement. This foundational work laid the groundwork for her subsequent postdoctoral research, which delved into the fundamental aspects of quantum mechanics and correlations in many-body systems. Her transition to studying how correlations affect the response of materials to space radiation demonstrates her ability to apply quantum principles to solve complex real-world problems.

Leading her own research team and coordinating a Horizon 2020 consortium on modeling materials for space applications, Dr. Da Pieve has shown an exceptional capacity for leadership and innovation. Her move to the European institutions, initially working for the European Research Council and currently focusing on quantum technologies and post-quantum cryptographic initiatives at DG CNECT for the European Commission, highlights her dedication to bridging the gap between advanced scientific research and policy development.

At the conference, Dr. Da Pieve is expected to provide insights into the European Commission’s strategy for advancing quantum technologies and securing digital infrastructure against the potential threats posed by quantum computing through post-quantum cryptography. Her presentation will likely cover the latest policy initiatives, funding opportunities, and collaborative projects to foster a robust quantum ecosystem within the EU.

IQT The Hague 2024 is the Netherlands’ fifth global conference and exhibition. The Hague is a Quantum Technology Event focusing on Quantum Networking and Quantum Security. Ten vertical topics encompassing more than 40 panel talks from over 100 speakers will provide attendees with a deep understanding of state-of-the-art developments of the future quantum internet and the current impact of quantum-safe technologies on cybersecurity and quantum computers.

The conference brings together corporate management, entrepreneurs, end users, technology providers, infrastructure partners, researchers, and investors working on current developments. IQT The Hague is organized by 3DR Holdings, IQT Research, QuTech, QIA (Quantum Internet Alliance), and Quantum Delta NL, who will bring leading organizations and professionals together in this important event. The April conference is “in-person” to ensure maximum networking and discussion at the Postillion Hotel & Convention Centre in The Hague.
