In-Person Marijuana Card Appointments Required (Again)

Date:

Yesterday, the Pennsylvania medical marijuana doctors received an email from the Department of Health’s Marijuana Program office that explained to them that marijuana card appointments must be conducted in-person again. Last year, Coronavirus protocols allowed marijuana cards to be certified using telemedicine by a patient’s marijuana doctor. That appears to be coming to an end.

According to the marijuana program, they have sent the email below to the cannabis doctors:

Good Afternoon,

Unless the General Assembly acts to extend, the Amendment to the Proclamation of Disaster Emergency, signed by Governor Wolf on May 20, 2021, may expire on or around June 10, 2021. As a reminder, the statutory and regulatory suspensions will remain in place only for as long as the Proclamation is in effect.

To that end, the Office of Medical Marijuana strongly encourages you to begin planning for your transition to the statutory and regulatory requirements regarding in-person patient consultations that were in place prior to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

We will be sure to share any additional information with you when it becomes available.

Thank you,

Office of Medical Marijuana

In-Person Marijuana Card Appointments Are Available at Natures Way Medicine

Thankfully, Natures Way Medicine is open to in-person appointments in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We are open most days of the week and Saturday mornings. Our address is 131 N 4th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106.

If you are a new patient coming to your cannabis card consultation, make sure to bring healthcare records documenting your qualified condition. This can be anxiety, PTSD, chronic pain, or many other conditions that you can read about on our Conditions Page.

We also recommend that patients check out our educational material on our Cannabis Education Page, which we have been told is very helpful to patients trying to figure out what types of cannabis products to get at dispensaries using their marijuana cards.

Share with Friends and Family

Please let others know that we are available so people are not stranded without a way to get marijuana cards. There have been a lot of out-of-state businesses providing patients marijuana cards over video last year that do not have actual brick and mortar locations where patients can see their marijuana doctor in-person for their marijuana card consultation. We are happy to provide this service to patients and step up during this transition back to physical appointments.

Let people know on facebook and social media sites or just tell them in-person, like the appointments!
