The Polygon blockchain’s data will now be connected and analyzed using Google’s BigQuery service, allowing users to approach detailed analytics and network insights. 

Google’s BigQuery is a serverless data warehouse that allows customers to examine massive volumes of data. Polygon, for its part, bills itself as an “Internet of Blockchains” and claims to be able to provide huge scale to Ethereum.

According to a press release today, the integration of Polygon Blockchain Datasets into Google BigQuery would allow for “the querying and analysis of on-chain data on Polygon in an easy, structured way utilizing Google Cloud.”

Users will, for example, be able to track gas prices and smart contract activity over time, as well as identify the most active and popular coins, contracts, or apps and receive access to multi-chain analysis for SDKs. Integration with typical financial record processing systems is also possible with the tool.

According to Alex Svanevik, CEO of analytics platform Nansen.ai, which also has a Polygon dashboard and whose developers built the technology for importing blockchain data into BigQuery, this connection is a key milestone in the evolution of the network’s ecosystem.

“The ability to do analytics on public blockchains is critical for transparency. One of the pillars of any blockchain ecosystem is freely available on-chain data. The BigQuery dataset is an excellent addition to Polygon’s expanding ecosystem, and I’m thrilled that Nansen was able to create an open-source solution in collaboration with Polygon, Google, and Helix,” Svanevik said.

While Nansen has already used these statistics to develop its Polygon ecosystem dashboard, he stated that the platform would have “additional Polygon data coming to Nansen over the next several weeks.” Users can monitor how rapidly the ecosystem is expanding and which projects are being utilized the most on the dashboard.
