Gilbane Building Company with team members from Hines Limited Partnership and Ivanhoé Cambridge celebrated the topping out of Texas Tower on Monday, March 22, 2021.

The 47-floor tower designed by Pelli Clarke Pelli will be an impressive addition to the Houston skyline and will total more than one million square feet. It consists of office space, an above and below-grade parking structure, tunnel connections, outdoor gardens and terraces, networking spaces, a full-service conference facility, a fitness center, and a dramatic lobby with influence from the hospitality sector, among other amenities. The project is being built to the highest standards Hines has ever developed in Houston, including LEED® Platinum, WiredScore and WELL™ Building Standards.

“We are very proud of our Gilbane project team, Baker Concrete, and all of the other subcontractors that played a role in “topping out” what essentially is the 51st elevated deck of the Texas Tower concrete structure over a month ahead of schedule” said Matteo Alibrio, Senior Project Manager for Gilbane. “Our team reached this critical milestone early despite having to work through extreme weather conditions and power grid shutdowns while facing the unique challenges of building safely in a tight urban setting during a global pandemic.
