Announced late last year, Ghostrunner’s next content expansion, Project_Hel, was scheduled to release later this month. We’re going to have to wait a little longer now, unfortunately.

Ghostrunner‘s official Twitter account shared the news that Project_Hel has been delayed until 3rd March. The usual reason applies; the team simply need more time to make the content as good as it can be, while also making sure everyone stays safe while adhering to Covid-19 restrictions.

Hopefully it will be worth the wait, though. Project_Hel isn’t the first update to be added to Ghostrunner. Its developers (One More Level, All In! Games, 3D Realms and Irongate Slipworks) have been generously adding free content to the game since it launched. Project_Hel will be the first paid DLC, however, and it’ll be far larger than any free update.

It will add six new levels to the game, and a new character to play as; this time you’ll take on the role of the titular Hel, one of the game’s bosses. As Hel, you’ll find yourself descending Dharma Tower as part of a new quest. It’s designed to appeal to both newcomers to Ghostrunner and those who have played to completion, by offering new challenges separate from the main game. It’s more combat-oriented than Ghostrunner‘s traditional gameplay too, with Hel having her own progression system to work your way through.

When it becomes available on 3rd March, you can purchase Project_Hel for £12.49. Check back closer to release date when we’ll have more coverage of the DLC.
