“I am honoured to join Aviation Australia as the new CEO,” said Ryan in a statement.

“I look forward to working with the talented team at Aviation Australia, and the aviation industry, to drive innovation, foster growth, and uphold our commitment to excellence in aviation training.”

Ryan, who was also seconded to Westpac for 12 months, has previously been awarded a Member of the Order of Australia and the United States Meritorious Service Medal.

According to Elsa Dalessio, chair of Aviation Australia, Ryan has “exceptional capabilities and leadership qualities”, and will guide Aviation Australia through a “transformative moment” for the organisation as it focuses on innovation and strategic advancement.

“Glenn has demonstrated a remarkable track record of driving performance improvements in complex environments,” said Dalessio.

“His expertise in enhancing systems, processes, and teams aligns seamlessly with Aviation Australia’s commitment to excellence and innovation.”

Aviation Australia is based in Brisbane, and Queensland Training and Skills Minister Lance McCallum welcomed Ryan’s appointment, saying aviation is “critically important” to the state’s economy.

“Maximising the potential of the State’s growing aviation industry relies on a skilled and job-ready workforce of Queenslanders,” he said.

“The Miles Government has partnered with Aviation Australia to deliver exactly that through our Gateway to Industry School and VET in Schools programs.

“With a new CEO in the pilot’s seat, I look forward to strengthening our partnership with Aviation Australia to inspire and train the next generation of Queensland-based aviation professionals.”
