Patrick “es3tag” Hansen is poised to fill the fifth slot on Cloud9, according to a report from TV2.dk, which claims that the former Heroic player will play his last tournament for Astralis in DreamHack Open Fall.
The Danish player would join Alex “ALEX” McMeekin, Özgür “woxic” Eker, William “mezii” Merriman, and Ricky “floppy” Kemery on the roster, which will also have “an active sixth player”, according to the organisation’s general manager, Henry “HenryG” Greer.
Since joining Astralis on a free transfer, es3tag has enjoyed great success, boasting a 1.12 rating over 36 maps while helping the team to a title victory in the European division of ESL Pro League Season 12.
The move would finalise Cloud9‘s roster heading into the final months of the year, with the team set to make their first appearance in Betway Nine to Five 5, which will run from October 26 – November 4. The tournament will serve as the roster’s first opportunity to gain experience heading into Flashpoint 2, slated to kick off on November 9.
If the move comes to fruition, Cloud9 would look as follows:
Alex “ALEX” McMeekin
William “mezii” Merriman
Özgür “woxic” Eker
Ricky “floppy” Kemery
Patrick “es3tag” Hansen
Aleksandar “kassad” Trifunović (coach)
