Dodge’s run of “Last Call” special editions got two more entries with the 2023 Challenger and Charger Scat pack Swinger models.
The “Last Calls” are designed to send out the long-running muscle cars in style before they’re replaced for 2024 with an all-electric model. The F8 Green or Sublime Green models recall the era of the Swinger special editions for the automaker. They can also be had with a White Knuckle option.
They followed the first two entries, the 2023 Dodge Challenger Shakedown and Charger Super Bee, which were released last week. Like the previous entries, Dodge plans to build 1,000 of each of the green widebodies.
“The name says it all — the originals had a unique, fun character, and that’s the same reaction we’re hoping for with our 2023 Dodge Challenger and Charger R/T Scat Pack Swinger models,” said Tim Kuniskis, Dodge brand chief executive officer — Stellantis. “Dodge Swinger models have always held a unique spot in the Dodge muscle-car pantheon, and these modern-day models bring that fun back to life.”
What do you get?
The Challenger version starts with the Plus Group and Shaker Package, and for the Challenger Scat Pack Swinger, the buyers gets Gold School Challenger grille, R/T Widebody, Scat Pack + Bee spoiler and fender badges. You also get a Gold School painted Shaker intake and 20-x-11 inch Gold School wheels.
Other add-ons include retro Swinger rear fender graphics, green Swinger interior instrument panel badge, mod grain wood-like aluminum interior bezel textures and Nappa/Alcantara seats with green stitching and green Dodge Rhombi logo.
For the Charger Swinger, you get the Plus Group content as well as a Gold School Scat Pack + Bee grille badge, Gold School Bee fender and decklid badges, 20-x-11 inch Gold School wheels and as well as the other equipment found on the Challenger Swinger.
What’s next?
The first six Challenger and Charger “Last Call” models will be shown off — the first four are already out — through Sept. 21. The seventh model will make its debut at the annual SEMA Show in Las Vegas in early November.
It’ll be closer to that time Dodge will reveal the pricing on the special editions as well as the order banks to get them. The move is part of a strategy for the overall production run for the 2023 Challenger and Charger.
The brand brought back three heritage colors — B5 Blue, Plum Crazy purple and Sublime green — as well as a modern favorite, Destroyer Grey, which seems to be an “in” color across the industry these days.
During the final run, each vehicle will offer 14 total 2023 exterior color options. 2023 Charger and Challenger R/T models will also feature new “345” fender badging, honoring the 345-cubic-inch Hemi engine under the hood.
The “Last Call” models also carry a special commemorative “Last Call” underhood plaque, features the vehicle name and a vehicle silhouette, as well as “Designed in Auburn Hills” and “Assembled in Brampton” to proclaim each vehicle’s origin.
Dodge is taking a new approach in getting the Charger and Challenger in the hands of its enthusiasts. The entire 2023 Charger and Challenger model-year run will be allocated to dealerships all at once, helping customers to identify and secure their dream cars more easily.
