So we might have jumped the gun a wee bit yesterday when we noticed the pre-order link in the App Store for Death Stranding Director’s Cut, the 2019 action game from Kojima Productions that is being brought to mobile courtesy of 505 Games. We reported that the game was available for pre-order at a price of $39.99 and that its expected launch date was January 31st. Both of those things were true at the time! But what a difference a day can make, as it was today that the official PR went out for the mobile version of Death Stranding Director’s Cut, and there’s a couple of changes to both the price and release date.
First off, there’s now a pre-order discount for the game, and it’s significant. Instead of $39.99 you can pre-order Death Stranding Director’s Cut for $19.99, a whopping 50% off. Sweet. Also, if you already pre-ordered before this discount hit you should only be charged at the cheaper price when the game actually launches, so don’t worry. Speaking of release, the official date is actually one day earlier, January 30th, which is just one week from today. Gosh, this new year is just flying by already, isn’t it?
The other thing to note, which had been revealed previously, is that Death Stranding Director’s Cut will only play on higher end Apple devices, with support listed for iPhone 15 Pro models and any of the M-series iPads or Macs. It’s also worth mentioning that this is a fully universal app meaning you buy once and can run it on the iPhone, iPad, or Mac and progress should sync between all those devices. Twenty bucks is a pretty killer price for a full-blown game like this one, so definitely consider taking advantage of this pre-order discount ahead of the launch of Death Stranding Director’s Cut next week.
