Date:

The final Major 1 qualifiers went down last night, here’s your daily recap.

Last night concluded the final week of Major 1 Qualifiers. The past three weeks saw many upsets, along with some dominant matches and the best clearly rising to the top. Here’s a recap of the final qualifiers ahead of Major 1.

London Royal Ravens 3-1 Seattle Surge

The London Royal Ravens were back to their best as they won Tuscan Hardpoint 250-199. Seattle Surge fought hard, putting up multiple streaks and dominating parts of the map. However, the Royal Ravens prevailed and Afro was exceptional, dropping 35 kills and a 1.52 K/D as London picked up where they left off, and took a 1-0 series lead.

Seattle Surge could have responded any better as they put up a 6-1 Berlin Search and Destroy win. Accuracy took over here in this map, dropping 8 kills alongside his teammate Mack who also managed 8. Zer0 was the best performer on the Ravens, nearly clutching a 1v4. However, Seattle Surge were too good in SnD, and tied the series 1-1. The Ravens dominated the next two maps on Gavutu, with all four players going positive in the Control. It was Nastie’s turn to dominate in map three, putting up a 1.56, while Gismo showed up in map four, dropping 30 kills with a 1.58 K/D.

This win for the London Royal Ravens sees them go 4-1 at the end of the Major 1 Qualifiers, and cement themselves as one of the best teams in the game.

OpTic Texas 3-1 Boston Breach

Boston Breach began this series with a close fought 250-247 Gavutu Hardpoint victory. The scoreline was within three points, and so was the slaying. Boston outslayed OpTic by three kills, with the players kills on each side being almost identical. This was an insanely close match, and came down to multiple clutches, setting the tone for this series.

In the Search and Destroy, OpTic tied the series. However, it wasn’t easy. They won the map 6-5, clutching up in the round 11. Dashy and Shotzzy were the main slayers here, both putting up 10 kills and keeping OpTic Texas in this series. The Control could have been an issue for OpTic, with them previously struggling on Gavutu. However, they dominated this map, outslaying by 22 kills and putting themselves 2-1 up in the series.

To end the series, OpTic Texas continued their dominant form in map four, winning 250-181 on Tuscan. Nero started this map like a menace, going on an instant 8 spree and putting Boston 50 points up. However, once Dashy and iLLeY started to heat up, OpTic dominated and took the series 3-1.

Atlanta FaZe 3-1 New York Subliners

Simp has been the target of some criticism recently with him not performing how he has in previous years. Well, he came out looking to make all of that void today, putting up 31 kills and a 1.48 K/D in the first map of this series, seeing his team take a 1-0 lead. FaZe went on to completely dominate the Search and Destroy, winning 6-1 with Cellium finishing at 10/1. Abezy also dropped 9 kills in this map, giving the Subliners no space to breathe at all.

The New York Subliners kept themselves in the series through a 3-2 Gavutu Control victory. Crimsix brought life into the Subliners by dropping 37 kills and finishing the map with a 1.37 K/D and some crucial plays in the final round to win the map and extend the series. However, Atlanta FaZe were too strong in the second Hardpoint, winning 250-190 and outslaying New York by 13 kills. This sees FaZe finish the qualifiers 5-0 and in first seed.
