CBCS, Valve Close Opens Pathway to Majors for CS:GO Teams

The Brazilian Counter-Strike Circuit (CBCS) announced on Thursday that it has secured a partnership with Valve granting that two of its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) splits that will allow teams to qualify for the Majors organized by the game publisher. Also, the tournaments held in April-May, and July-August will count for the official Regional Major Rankings (RMR).

The first split of the circuit that will qualify for the Major has a total $100K BRL (roughly $17.8K USD) prize pool, of which $41.5K BRL ($7.4K USD) will go to the first place finisher along with 1000 ranking points.

CBCS is a production by LnK Gaming, a joint company held by DC Set and Brazilian communications giant Globo, the entertainment group Omelete, the esports promotion company Gamers Club, held by the Immortals Gaming Club, and the streamer Alexandre “Gaules” Borba. Previously, it was a franchise structure, but after remodeling and the joining of new partners in late 2020, it became an open circuit.
