Brisbane power couple profit from sale of luxury penthouse

The penthouse at OAK ONE, 60 Doggett St, Newstead, has sold.


THE Brisbane power couple behind boutique developer Capital Luxury Residences have sold their luxurious Newstead penthouse for $1.95m, making a slight profit on their purchase during the peak of the boom.

Records show the husband and wife team, Phil Pezzi and interior designer Alissa Birch, bought the property in Ms Birch’s name for $1.9m in October 2021.

The three-bedroom, three-bathroom apartment occupies the top two levels of the ONE OAK complex by Cavcorp in Doggett Street.

Simon and Courtney Caulfield of Place Estate Agents – Kangaroo Point negotiated the sale.

Mr Caulfield said the sale price was the highest price achieved for a penthouse in the development.

He said the apartment attracted multiple offers and sold prior to the close of offers campaign.

Penthouse 1002 has three ensuited bedrooms, plus a separate office, a powder room, and three, side-by-side car spaces.

The open-plan living and dining area connects to a balcony with a built-in barbecue and uninterrupted views across the city.

Other features include timber floors, high ceilings, and floor-to-ceiling glass.

ONE OAK also offers the use of its amenities, which include a Technogym gymnasium, a European-inspired pool, a sundeck and a communal garden.

The couple, who have five children, own local development company, Capital Luxury Residences, which is behind a number of luxurious home builds in Brisbane, including ‘Abigail’ at 17 Mayfield St in Ascot, which sold late last year for $5.3m.

Mr Pezzi recently bought two neighbouring properties on McConnell St, Bulimba, offered by Courtney Talbot, daughter of the late mining magnate Ken Talbot, for $10.4m.

The blocks offer a combined 2123 sqm of land with a 40m water frontage.

The couple is understood to be building their own home in New Farm.
