Communications specialist Frequentis is to work with Airservices Australia to provide a modernised multimedia communications solution for fire and rescue operations at airports across Australia.

The business will be providing two of its products to make up the complete communications solution: its LifeX multimedia communications and collaboration platform, alongside its Onsite messenger and incident management module.

The full product will be assembled at the company’s Melbourne and Brisbane premises.

Once complete, Frequentis will be able to offer a hardware and software solution across 27 airport control centres Australia-wide. A further central control centre will also operate out of two data centres.

“Emergency service organisations must have the most effective tools available to process critical data and information to manage incidents when every second counts,” said Martin Rampl, managing director of Frequentis Australasia, in today’s announcement.

“This program will enable Airservices Australia to use the extensive features of the cutting-edge Frequentis solution to enhance and optimise emergency communication and incident resolution, as well as reducing control room operators’ workload.

“As a long-term partner of Airservices Australia, we are pleased to be working with Airservices Australia’s ARFFS on this very important project to upgrade its airport fire control centres with the latest technology.”

Michelle Bennetts, chief service delivery officer at Airservices Australia, is similarly pleased with the outcome of the ongoing partnership.
