The LCS finally won!

Cloud9 starts the day of Group A games with a statement win over Fnatic, sending a message to the rest of the teams that NA is not done just yet. That win now puts C9 one step closer to making it to the playoffs, but there is still some way to go.

Fnatic will be looking to brush this off quickly as they will be in action in a little bit against T1. The LCK titans will be looking to move ahead of EDward Gaming in the groups, who will also be C9’s opponent after Fnatic’s next match.

C9 were clean and clinical from start to finish, which had plenty to do with the draft. With the need to get started on the front foot, C9 did just that with their movement and rotation. With every kill C9 claimed in the game, it was met with an uproar from the crowd, but it didn’t end there. Any objective that C9 got, whether it be a turret, a drake, or even a rift herald, was met with huge cheers from the crowd.

This goes to show just how much that win meant to the LCS fans, who have been hoping to see their region take its first win for quite some time now. Thankfully, they weren’t let down by C9, who had some incredible plays along the way to their first win.

One such player who was instrumental in dictating C9’s tempo and aggression was Robert “Blaber” Huang. His Trundle was a key piece in the team’s lineup as he got involved in almost all of the team’s kills.

Ibrahim “Fudge” Allami was another player who deserved recognition for his plays on Ornn. Being the team’s tank (both in-game and IRL), Fudge played the role to perfection, constantly keeping Fnatic at arm’s bay while pushing the champion to the absolute limit.

Overall, C9 were near-flawless in their win over Fnatic. Their communication, timing, and teamwork were what set the tone for the day. Both C9 and LCS fans will be hoping the team carries this momentum to their next two games against EDG and T1. Depending on the results from the rest of Group A, C9 could very well force a tiebreaker if they manage to win all their games for the day.
