Webinar Tomorrow: Meet the Inventors of Onion Routing

Date:

Webinar reunites inventors of onion routing to talk about the past, present, and future of their invention

25 years ago, three computer scientists from the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory invented a new network architecture that changed the trajectory of the internet – Onion Routing. The inventors were David Goldschlag, Paul Syverson, and Michael Reed.

Onion Routing can be used to hide the presence of network attached users and devices through a technique called “obfuscation and managed attribution.” You may know of onion routing by its open source network implementation called Tor (The Onion Router). The challenge is Tor has become a tool of the dark web so enterprise networks have been slow to adopt.

Onion Routing Webinar

A live webinar on February 15th at 2PM ET will reunite the inventors of onion routing to talk about the past, present, and future of their invention. They will be joined by Chris Steffen, Research Director and industry analyst at EMA (Enterprise Management Associates), and Tom Badders, who leads the product team for Telos Ghost – a private, global, obfuscation and managed attribution network for commercial enterprises and government organizations. The panelists will discuss:

• What is onion routing and why was it created?

• What are the primary use cases for onion routing?

• What are the challenges to implementing a network based on onion routing?

• Is onion routing an effective tool for enterprise organizations?

• What additional technologies and architectures complement onion routing?

• How does onion routing work with the cloud?
