Webinar reunites inventors of onion routing to talk about the past, present, and future of their invention
25 years ago, three computer scientists from the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory invented a new network architecture that changed the trajectory of the internet – Onion Routing. The inventors were David Goldschlag, Paul Syverson, and Michael Reed.
Onion Routing can be used to hide the presence of network attached users and devices through a technique called “obfuscation and managed attribution.” You may know of onion routing by its open source network implementation called Tor (The Onion Router). The challenge is Tor has become a tool of the dark web so enterprise networks have been slow to adopt.
