The IQT The Hague conference, a beacon for quantum technology enthusiasts and professionals, is set to feature Vlora Rexhepi – van der Pol, a distinguished figure in the realm of quantum technology innovation. Currently at the helm of the Quantum Internet Alliance (QIA), Rexhepi – van der Pol is spearheading efforts to coordinate and manage innovation within this groundbreaking initiative, aiming to realize the potential of quantum internet.

Rexhepi – van der Pol’s career encapsulates a rich tapestry of expertise across various technological domains, including the research, design, and standardization of mobile communications spanning 2G, 3G, 4G, and Internet Quality of Service signaling and provisioning. Her work extends into Industry 4.0 technologies and, more recently, into pioneering the hyperloop concept—a novel mode of transportation envisioned to revolutionize how we travel. Her role as the Head of Standardization for hyperloop at Hardt in the Netherlands, where she led the development of standards and regulatory frameworks for this emergent transportation technology, underscores her leadership in setting new benchmarks for technological advancements.

With an Engineering Doctorate (EngD) from the University of Twente and an electrical engineering degree (Dipl.Ing) from the University of Prishtina, Rexhepi – van der Pol’s academic foundation complements her extensive professional experience. Her tenure with Nokia and Ericsson in Finland and the Netherlands, engaging in wireless research and contributing to the 3GPP / IETF standardization R&D teams, highlights her pivotal role in shaping the future of mobile communications.

At the IQT The Hague conference, Rexhepi – van der Pol is poised to offer invaluable insights into the QiA’s mission and the challenges and opportunities of building a quantum internet. Her discussion is likely to delve into the intricacies of coordinating a multi-stakeholder initiative aimed at harnessing quantum technologies to enable unprecedented levels of internet security, connectivity, and computing power, using her work at QIA as an example.

IQT The Hague 2024 is the Netherlands’ fifth global conference and exhibition. The Hague is a Quantum Technology Event focusing on Quantum Networking and Quantum Security. Ten vertical topics encompassing more than 40 panel talks from over 100 speakers will provide attendees with a deep understanding of state-of-the-art developments of the future quantum internet and the current impact of quantum-safe technologies on cybersecurity and quantum computers.

The conference brings together corporate management, entrepreneurs, end users, technology providers, infrastructure partners, researchers, and investors working on current developments. IQT The Hague is organized by 3DR Holdings, IQT Research, QuTech, QIA (Quantum Internet Alliance), and Quantum Delta NL, who will bring leading organizations and professionals together in this important event. The April conference is “in-person” to ensure maximum networking and discussion at the Postillion Hotel & Convention Centre in The Hague.
