UK-based gaming matchmaker TEAMS.gg has expanded its service to include Electronic Arts’ battle royale hero shooter Huyền thoại Apex.

Apex Legends is the second battle royale game to take advantage of TEAMS.gg’s team and friend-finding service after Fortnite joined its roster of games in 2022.

The service was launched in 2019 initially for the CS:GO community. The platform later expanded to Fortnite and GIÁ TRỊ, with the goal to provide players with an enjoyable team experience.

According to the release, the matchmaker focuses on quality over quantity when it comes to connecting players, using a two-way matching system that utilises a number of factors to identify good matches.

James Duffield, Co-founder and CEO of TEAMS.gg, commented: “An Apex Legends player who signs up to TEAMS can now expect to be able to find other people who are just like them, with similar ambitions and complementary skills. Whether they aspire to the upper echelons of Apex Legends esports, or simply want to find a group of friends to play with, they can do that using TEAMS.”

Duffield also believed that finding teammates via TEAMS.gg can help avoid another issue which can arise in multiplayer games: toxicity. He explained that players will be able to find others who are into Apex Legends in the same way - whether that’s looking to play for fun or more competitively. In an attempt to create a toxicity-free community, the platform also has its own reporting system.

Another feature recently added to TEAMS.gg are ‘Entitled Events’. The feature helps players looking to compete in specific events – such as the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) – find others to form teams.

Earlier this month, Electronic Arts announced the ALGS Championship will be held at the PNC Arena, featuring a live audience for the first time. The event will see 40 teams from five different regions compete for a $2m (~£1.60m) prize pool.
