Bitcoin will now allow you to fly!
Caracas Air, a leading Venezuelan aviation academy, is the latest group to adopt cryptocurrency after allowing Bitcoin (BTC) payments for those who want to take any of their courses.
In addition to this, Oliver Laufer, the company CEO, has also announced that discounts and financing plans will be given to those who will choose to pay with cryptocurrency.
Earning a certification from Caracas Air will entitle the holder a license authorized by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), making the company the first ICAO-certified aviation academy in Venezuela to offer BTC payment option.
With a customer base of almost 900 students per year, Caracas Air is easily the most prominent academy in the country.
Mainstream adoption evident
The business decision of Caracas Air to offer Bitcoin payments for its students adds to the growing list of actions being taken by different sectors in Venezuela to take part in what is being dubbed as “mainstream” adoption for the emerging crypto market.
As of March 2021, customers of Simple TV, the country’s biggest satellite TV provider, are now able to settle their monthly bills by the use of cryptocurrencies. The company reportedly just enabled the feature to more than 4 million users.
Such innovation is considered a step towards the massive adoption of digital currencies into the mainstream for wider public use.
What you can learn with crypto
There are many programs of Caracas Air that students can take with the option of paying through Bitcoin (BTC).
Among these programs are those leaned towards being a cabin crew, flight dispatcher as well as professional teaching induction courses, safety management systems (SMS), reduced vertical separation minimum (RVSM), and performance-based navigation (PBN).
Meanwhile, the company has not provided further details with regards percentage of discounts that will be rewarded to those students who will choose to pay their fees in Bitcoin.
