On the chinese marketplace Alibaba you can buy a one-wheeled motorbike for a modest €1560: watch the video to find out if it’s a top or a flop buy
As you know, you can buy anything on the Internet. Browsing through the pages of marketplaces and e-commerce sites of varying degrees of reliability (please always beware of online scams!), you can find anything from a portable steriliser for smartphones to a floating support for taking a selfie underwater. The latest oddity we found online comes directly from China. On the Alibaba portal – a veritable treasure trove of curious objects and extravagant gadgets – you can buy a very special motorbike with just one wheel! That’s right: it’s a self-balancing, 100% electrically powered single-wheeler on sale for 1560 euros. The peculiarity lies in the design. The designers have included a (fake) teardrop-shaped petrol tank and a frame with a visible red trellis that is very reminiscent of a Ducati Monster… cut in half by a wrecker!

Alibaba’s one-wheeled motorbike
The one-wheeled motorbike is 100% electric and has a 2000 watt motor. It is powered by a 1360 Wh Panasonic battery, which provides a range of 60-100 km. The vehicle weighs approximately 40 kg and takes 3 hours to fully recharge. As it is a self-balancing vehicle, Alibaba’s one-wheeled bike rides like a segway. Shifting your weight forward accelerates while slowing down requires shifting your mass backwards. If you can keep your balance, you can reach a top speed of 48 km/h. Not bad for a wheel sole!
