Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the Indian IT services, consulting and business solutions multinational, is all set to create jobs in the tech space in Malaysia. It is actively working with the Ministry of Human Resources there to generate quality employment opportunities in the country.
According to Jeevan Rajoo, country head, TCS Malaysia, the Company is contributing to Malaysia’s efforts to fill the digital skills gap and generate lucrative tech jobs for the youth of the country.
The Company has already posted almost 400 skilled jobs in the Human Resources Development Fund Placement Centre of Malaysia, seeking full-stack developers, business analysts, cybersecurity specialists, UI/UX designers, cloud engineers and enterprise architects.
That is not all. The well-known Initial Learning Programme (ILP) from TCS, which is a two-month long learning and hands-on training programme for freshers, will now be available to new recruits. The programme will help fresh graduates develop technology skills such as coding, data analytics and software or application development, as well as soft skills such as problem solving, creativity and communication skills.
Ever since the ILP was rolled out in Malaysia last year, TCS has been able to successfully hire 100 freshers in the country, even amidst the pandemic, assignment them to various projects within the Company. Another 50 positions for freshers will be open in the upcoming ILP intake next month, that is, August 2021.
The career and graduate training opportunities at TCS Malaysia will be cross listed in the HPC, rolled out by the Human Resource Development Fund (HRDF), which is a job portal that connects job seekers with employers across industries and sectors who need their services. In addition to fulfilling immediate job requirements, the objective of HPC is to address the skills gap and ensure that job seekers are put in touch with coaches and trainers who can provide them advice and career counselling.
Malaysia is in the process of enhancing digitalisation and improving the digital infrastructure. As part of this agenda, it is working on building a secure digital environment and developing 20,000 cybersecurity knowledge workers and 30,000 data professionals by 2025.
