PS Store Sale Brings Hundreds of PS5, PS4 Games Under £20

Need for Speed! Dead by Daylight! Tetris!

A brand new sale has just appeared on the European PlayStation Store, bringing a wide selection of games under the £20 mark. PS5, but mostly PS4, software is included here, with some pretty huge discounts available. The promotion has yet to hit the North American PS Store, but it'll just be a matter of time.

Anyway, let's have a look at what we can get on the cheap, yeah? Some big names you might know include Need for Speed Heat (£11.99/$11.99), Dead by Daylight (£12.49/$14.99, including both platforms), and The Crew 2's special edition (£9.59/$11.99). Ubisoft is pretty heavily featured, actually — Assassin's Creed Origins is down to £12.49/$14.99, The Ezio Collection is just £9.99/$11.99, and Rainbow Six Siege (deluxe edition) is going for £7.49/$9.99.

A new For Honor hero will be revealed this week

Ubisoft is preparing to reveal a new For Honor hero this week. The latest fighter to join the game’s ever-growing roster will be unveiled during an upcoming Warrior’s Den stream. This stream can be caught over on Twitch at 5PM GMT, January 20, 2022, and should give us an in-depth look at the hero’s design, lore, weapon, and moveset. Ubisoft has confirmed that this latest addition to For Honor will arrive a week later on January 27, 2022, as we close out Year 5 Season 4. What do we know about this new hero? The teaser video doesn’t give us a clear look, though they appear to be wielding a short sword – maybe a cutlass? There definitely seems to be a pirate theme to the new season as hinted at in the latest lore entry: The people of Heathmoor were afflicted with rising waters and a devastating storm that flooded the landscape. Thankfully, the storm passed, and though the skies began to clear, a cold winter settled in. The high waters froze, and snow covered the terrain. Ships were stuck in the ice, which only added to the odd serenity that had befallen Heathmoor. After so many hardships, so many battles and natural catastrophes, the people took this small respite as an opportunity to reconnect. After being separated for so long, friends and families were reunited once again, and everyone took the time to count their blessings, and celebrate. But amid the festivities, something unforeseen came from the frozen sea. A large ship with red sails reached the harbor, the herald of uncertainty – and intrigue. Naturally, fans of the fighting game are already asking what comes next. For Honor is fast approaching its fifth birthday which raises questions as to whether we can expect a Year 6 roadmap loaded with fresh content. The arrival of new heroes, maps, and modes has slowed over time. 2021 brought us the Kyoshin whereas 2020 saw Apollyon, and the wandering mercenary, Gryphon, make their debut. That said, the team at Ubisoft Montreal have been tirelessly looking to tweak and rebalance its sizeable cast of fighters, each with their own unique fighting styles. Hopefully the upcoming stream will give us a tiny glimpse of what to expect throughout the year.

Ubisoft Unveils VR Escape Game Based On Notre-Dame Fire

The game will serve as an official tie-in to an upcoming docudrama about the 2019 fire. Watch Dogs Fashion Line Will Dress You Up As A Boring-But-Stylish Hacker

If you're looking to do some quick cosplay as the least-interesting character in Ubisoft's Watch Dogs series, then fashion brand SuperGroupies has you covered. The company is releasing a watch, coat, bag, and wallet that has been inspired by the vigilante fashion of Watch Dogs' first protagonist, Aiden Pearce, with preorders opening up from today and until February 6.

The main piece of this ensemble, a $230 coat, is modeled after the one used in-game by Aiden Pearce and stylized for daily use. It also comes with a black mask cover imitating Aiden's neckwarmer scarf that doubles as a hacktivist disguise. Don't do crime though; that's strictly illegal stuff.

Gotta look hacktastic

Moving on to the accessories, you can keep time with a $220 chronograph watch that has a black and white view of Chicago from the ctOS on the main dial and an "Everything is Under CTRL" metallic inscription. The 60-minute and 60-second chronograph counters also sport a DedSec logo-inspired ASCII art skull emblem and the Fox symbol respectively.

Lastly, the bag and wallet will be available for $150 and $110 respectively. The coat, bag, and wallet are expected to ship in late June this year, while the watch will arrive later in August.

Watch Dogs: Legion hasn't been in the news much since it launched in late 2020. Aside from a few updates, a crossover with Assassin's Creed, and downloadable campaign content that starred Pearce, the game's last notable addition was Legion of the Dead. A free update available to all players, Legion of the Dead tasks teams of four players to survive a zombie horde that has infested the streets of London, and escape with as many supplies as possible.

Reaction: Activision Blizzard Buyout Is Devastating for PS5, PS4

The end of an era.

Is this the end of PlayStation? It’s always easy to get apocalyptic in situations like this, but it’s obviously not. Sony’s gaming division remains a wildly popular brand globally, and no single publisher can ever detract from that. Make no mistake, though, Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard for $70 billion is a blow of unprecedented scale – this isn’t just a haymaker or a right hook, it’s the manufacturer slumped against the ropes, blood dripping from its mouth, while it desperately gasps for air.

You might not like Call of Duty or any of Activision Blizzard’s other games, but you need to understand this: every year, the publisher’s first-person shooter is one of the biggest games on PlayStation. Call of Duty: Vanguard actually underperformed a little, meaning that in terms of 2021 PS Store sales, it was forced to sit behind FIFA 22 and NBA 2K22 in Europe and North America respectively. But typically, it’s Call of Duty at the top – year in, year out. And all its players contribute enormously to Sony’s bottom line, be it through microtransactions or PS Plus subscriptions.
