Rainbow Six Extraction – Every Operator and Gadget

In Rainbow Six Extraction you’re tasked with defending humanity from an alien threat known as the Archaeans. To do this you’ll need the best of the best, REACT having recruited an elite team of Operators from the Tom Clancy universe. Each Rainbow Six Extraction Operator has their own defining traits. While they all perform the same basic action while out on a mission, you’ll need to account for their unique gadgets as well as weapon loadouts and stats. Not every Operator from Rainbow Six Siege is available to play here. The developers at Ubisoft have formed a crack team of 18 characters plucked from various counterterrorism units from around the globe. This number is set to expand with regular content updates. Rainbow Six Extraction Operator & Gadget List The current list of playable characters includes: Doc – STIM Pistol Pulse – HB-7 Cardiac Sensor Finka – Adrenalin Boost Hibana – X-KAIROS Grenade Launcher Vigil – ERC (Electronic Rendering Cloak) Lion – EE-ONE-D Drone Alibi – PRISMA Volumetric Display Device Sledge – Tactical Breaching Hammer Ela – GRZMOT Concussive Mines Smoke – Z9 Toxic Gas Grenades Nomad – AIRJAB Repulsion Grenades Gridlock – TRAX Stinger Anti-Personnel Traps IQ – R.E.D SPECTRE Electronics Detector Jager – MAGPIE Automated Defense System (ADS) Rook – Boron-Ceramic Armor Plates Capitao – TAC Mk0 Crossbow Fuze – APM-6 Cluster Charges Tachanka – DP-28 mounted Light Machine Gun Rainbow Six Extraction Operators – how to unlock You’ll only start out with a handful of REACT agents when starting the game. You’ll unlock more of them as you play missions, complete research studies, and level up your roster. More Operators will become available once you high milestone rank 5, then 10, then 17. You should breeze past the first few milestone ranks though there is a fair amount of grind to obtain the full Rainbow Six Extraction roster. Which Operator should I pick? From what we’ve played there are no Rainbow Six Extraction Operators you should avoid or pick every time. It really depends on your own playstyle: whether you want speed over stopping, firepower over stealth etc. Give each member of the team a trial run, whether in solo or co-op, learning where best to use their signature gadget. If playing with randoms you’ll ideally want an Operator with decent survivability who can easily scout and ping targets. Coordinating with a squad helps open your options when it comes to team composition. Ideally you’ll want one squadmate who can heal, one who can mark targets, and one capable of clearing a path through the map. Of course, there’s scope to switch things up. Gadgets have a variety of uses, such as distracting enemies, highlighting supplies, or even deploying a mounted machine gun. Thanks, Tachanka.

Assassin’s Creed Series’ Original Ending Saw Desmond Blasting Off Into Space

If you weren't happy with how Desmond Miles' story came to an end in Assassin's Creed III, just know we almost got something a lot weirder. According to Assassin's Creed III director Alex Hutchinson, the third entry of the Assassin's Creed series almost ended with Desmond blasting off into space.

In a recent interview with Eurogamer, Hutchinson told the outlet the now long-running Assassin's Creed series was originally intended to be a trilogy, which ultimately ended with the destruction of Earth. However, while the rest of the planet was forced to deal with imminent death, Desmond and former Abstergo Industries researcher Lucy Stillman got an arguably much better deal. According to Hutchinson, the pair were meant to board a spaceship together and set off to a new planet, where they would become the new Adam and Eve and create a new civilization.

The news of Assassin's Creed's almost-alternate ending first surfaced late last year, when Lars de Wildt, a researcher of conspiracy theories, religion, and other beliefs in digital media culture at KU Leuven, published a research paper filled with interviews given by various Assassin's Creed developers back in 2019. In de Wildt's piece, notable Assassin's Creed developers--such as Hutchinson and Assassin's Creed co-creator Patrice Désilets--shared with the researcher their original plans for Assassin's Creed III, including a fun fact about why Lucy was given that name.

"That's why she's called Lucy, after the Australopithecus afarensis," Désilets said. This is a reference to a collection of fossils dating back nearly 3.2 million years ago, to the first female of the hominin species, affectionately named Lucy.

Of course none of this is how the first portion of the Assassin's Creed series played out. While the universe remains intact, both Desmond and Lucy weren't quite as lucky. However, while it might not be a literal legacy, the two characters did spark a series that has since gone on to span 12 main games and 17 spin-offs. Assassin's Creed's most recent title, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, is slated to get a brand-new expansion on March 10.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s New Scythe Is Super Strong and Easy to Unlock

The Eclipse.

Another week, another round of in-game challenges for Assassin's Creed Valhalla through Ubisoft Connect. These tasks have offered up some good rewards in the past, but the weapon available via this week's community challenge is probably the best of the bunch. By taking part, you get a brand new mythical scythe named Eclipse — and it's very, very powerful.

It's also very, very easy to unlock. Said community challenge requires players to kill a grand total of 5 million enemies — a total that was smashed in just a few hours. Eivors all across the world have slaughtered a whopping 31 million foes at the time of writing, and so to unlock the Eclipse scythe, all you need to do is go out into the world of Valhalla and kill at least one enemy. Once you're done, simply claim the challenge in Ubisoft Connect, and the scythe should pop up in your inventory the next time you're in-game.

For Honor’s New Pirate Hero Has A Gun

For Honor is entering the next stage of warfare, as the new Pirate hero joins the fray, wielding a cutlass and a pistol. The Pirate hero and their swashbuckling crew join the fight on January 27 as part of title update 2 for Year 5 Season 4: Frozen Shores.

Announced in a blog post, the Pirate hero is the first member of a new faction, the Outlanders group. The Outlanders will be a collection of heroes that don't have any cultural links between them, instead all being free adventurers and explorers. In the character trailer, the Pirate is shown to wield a cutlass and a flintlock pistol, although it's unclear exactly how the pistol will function in a game focused primarily on melee combat.

The Pirate will be available for $8 USD at launch, bundled with an exclusive ornament, an elite outfit, seven days of Champion Status, and three scavenger crates. The Pirate will be available to unlock with 15,000 steel starting February 10. January 17 also marks the start of the Pirates of Aurora event, which lasts until February 17, adding a free event pass to For Honor.

Ubisoft also teased the upcoming Year 6 of For Honor, which will consist of four seasons, bringing two new heroes to the Outlanders. Year 6, titled New Horizons, starts on March 17.

For Honor’s new Pirate hero joins the fight next week

Ubisoft has revealed its new For Honor. The Pirate has set sail for the fighting game’s expanding roster and will be playable from January 27, 2022. You can catch the latest episode of Ubisoft’s Warriors’ Den in which the developers showcase this swashbuckling new hero. The Pirate stands out for a number of reasons. She doesn’t fit the typical medieval fighter archetype, wielding a cutlass in one hand and a pistol in the other, using them in tandem during combat. The reveal trailer gives us a taste of how this new fighter will play with a sneak peak at some of her moves, executions, and cosmetic gear. For those For Honor lore buffs, here’s the lowdown on the latest hero: The people of Heathmoor were afflicted with rising waters and a devastating storm that flooded the landscape. Thankfully, the storm passed, and though the skies began to clear, a cold winter settled in. The high waters froze, and snow covered the terrain. Ships were stuck in the ice, which only added to the odd serenity that had befallen Heathmoor. After so many hardships, so many battles and natural catastrophes, the people took this small respite as an opportunity to reconnect. After being separated for so long, friends and families were reunited once again, and everyone took the time to count their blessings, and celebrate. But amid the festivities, something unforeseen came from the frozen sea. A large ship with red sails reached the harbor, the herald of uncertainty – and intrigue. Naturally, fans of the fighting game are already asking what comes next. For Honor is fast approaching its fifth birthday which raises questions as to whether we can expect a Year 6 roadmap loaded with fresh content. The arrival of new heroes, maps, and modes has slowed over time. 2021 brought us the Kyoshin whereas 2020 saw Apollyon, and the wandering mercenary, Gryphon, make their debut. That said, the team at Ubisoft Montreal have been tirelessly looking to tweak and rebalance its sizeable cast of fighters, each with their own unique fighting styles. Hopefully the upcoming stream will give us a tiny glimpse of what to expect throughout the year. In the meantime, we’ll be revisiting For Honor this year for our updated 2022 review.
