Call of Duty: Vanguard update nerfs shotguns and makes bug fixes

Vanguard Update Shotgun Nerf Bug FixesIf you have played Call of Duty: Vanguard, it is highly likely that you have encountered various bugs and stability issues. Recently, Activision shared a statement addressing the state of Vanguard, assuring fans that changes are on the way. It appears that this has already begun with Sledgehammer Games already rolling out a patch. The latest update makes some bug fixes, and hits Vanguard shotguns with a much-needed nerf. To begin, fixes have been made to weapons and attachments. The first is with longshot progression, which can now be achieved through Incendiary Rounds. Damage that the rounds deal over time will contribute to earning longshots. Also, an issue causing the Buck and Slug attachment for shotguns to unintentionally give players headshot bonuses when hitting limbs has been addressed. At the same time, the range of the Buck and Slug ammunition has been reduced. Another nerf has been handed to the Vanguard Double Barrel akimbo shotgun in terms of a damage reduction.   ...

Call Of Duty: Vanguard Patch Notes Reveal Shotgun Nerfs And Bug Fixes

A new update went live for Call of Duty: Vanguard on January 20 to deliver more bug fixes and another nerf to shotguns for multiplayer. A few bugs were also squashed for Vanguard's Zombies mode.

For multiplayer changes, the January 20 patch notes from Sledgehammer Games detail fixes for killstreak and perk issues. Players can no longer gain infinite ammo from a killstreak exploit, and the developer addressed a bug that caused missing challenge details when previewing the Welgun after unlocking its challenges in multiplayer. Additionally, players with the Fortified Perk are no longer immune to any fire damage including fire from the Flamenaut streak and the Incendiary Grenade equipment.

Shotguns have felt over-powered since Vanguard's launch, but the patch notes reveal another round of nerfs aimed to level the playing field. Damage has been reduced for the Akimbo Double Barrel Shotgun, and the range was reduced for the Buck and Slug attachment.

For Zombies mode, small adjustments were made to Der Anfang. The update added a fix for an issue that could occasionally prevent a player's Artifact from working properly after self-reviving, and an exploit where support weapons could provide infinite ammo was corrected, too.

An update also arrived to Call of Duty: Warzone on January 20 to buff the Katana melee weapon and bring several game fixes to the battle royale. The full details for the Warzone patch notes can be found here. All of these improvements arrive just a day after Activision announced the delay of Vanguard and Warzone's Season 2 in order to bring quality-of-life updates to Vanguard, Warzone, Black Ops Cold War, and Modern Warfare 2019.

The full patch notes can be found below, as shared by Sledgehammer Games.

It's uncertain how the change will impact Call of Duty, but Microsoft has acquired Activision Blizzard--pending regulatory approval--in a deal to be valued at nearly $70 billion. Activision Blizzard has been struggling as of late with employee walkouts and lawsuits and other investigations related to allegations of sexual harassment and discrimination against women.

Vanguard and Warzone Pacific Season 2 delayed to fix major bugs

Call of Duty Vanguard and Warzone Pacific Season 2 has been delayed, Activision has officially confirmed. The new start date for S2 has been pushed back to February 14, 2022. This push back to Valentine’s Day is in response to major issues across Call of Duty Vanguard, Warzone Pacific, and Modern Warfare, with developers working on updates for each game. “We will use this additional development time to deliver updates, including optimizations to gameplay,” reads the latest community blog. This will include weapon balancing for a fairer playing field, as well as important bugs fixes and stability improvements. Activision reminds players that these updates are being rolled out across multiple games, spanning a whole host of platforms, and two console generations. While some will see the Vanguard and Warzone Pacific Season 2 delay as a disappointment, others agree that it’s the best decision. In recent weeks there have been a growing number of reports of frustrating bugs and performance issues – it doesn’t make sense for Call of Duty to go live with its first major content drop of 2022 without some crucial clean-up work first. It’s a strange time for the power-selling first person shooter series. Developer Sledgehammer Games wasn’t able to capitalise on the franchise’s momentum with last year’s Call of Duty Vanguard. At least in terms of sales, prompting speculation that this year’s entry could release a little sooner in the year. Then, of course, there’s Microsoft’s acquisition of publisher Activision. Nothing’s been set in stone though there’s a chance we could see Call of Duty become an Xbox exclusive from 2023 onwards, a landmark shift for the genre and industry at large. In our review we scored Vanguard a mighty 9/10 for its cinematic story campaign, sharp multiplayer, and reworked Zombies: The stars have aligned for Call of Duty: Vanguard. For the first time, this truly feels like a full package without any caveats. Sure, some parts are naturally stronger than others but there isn’t a weak link in sight. After back to back triumphs, Call of Duty is now on a killstreak. Source: Call of Duty

Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone Pacific Season Two gets delayed until next month

Vanguard Fixes DetailsSeason Two for both Call of Duty: Vanguard and the recently rebranded Warzone, Warzone Pacific, was set to kick off on February 2. But there have been some issues as of late in the realm of Activision’s rooty-tooty point-and-shooty franchise famous for its minuscule campaigns and aggressively popular multiplayer battles. The developer teams are set to address these issues, which include balancing, stability, and optimization across multiple Call of Duty games. So Season Two of Vanguard and Warzone Pacific has been officially delayed. It’s now set to kick off a couple of weeks later than previously intended. While this news may be surprising to the faithful, it’s at least noteworthy that the company is listening and willing to improve the games to try and assuage fan concerns.   The new launch date for Season Two is now February 14, which will give nearly two extra weeks to work out some of the kinks players have been experiencing. The games are set to be impro...
