The hippie culture fueled by cannabis use was about peace and love, no more war, and as Cheech and Chong would say, “Heyyyyyyy man, why can’t we all just get along”. Fast forward to 2022, and now you have a worldwide cannabis legalization movement that is moving forward at different rates around the world, but from state-by-state legalization in America, to recreational legalization at the country level like in Canada and soon-to-be Germany, the peaceful plant is making its mellow and anti-war sentiment felt.
Only 53% of New Yorkers support the newly legal recreational legalization. According to recent polls, the remaining 47% do not want adult-use cannabis. This has made experts question the probability of having a thriving cannabis market when almost half the population is not interested.
Therefore, if you are within an age category that is plagued with side effects that cannabis can treat – then not making cannabis legal for this age group is illogical to say the least. Of course, this doesn’t mean that anyone within this age group would benefit from cannabis. Some people may have conflict with their current regimen of medicine – which is why it’s important that if you are within this age group, to consult your primary care physician about your plans to incorporate cannabis into your life.
