T1 didn’t inform players about coaching staff changes until last minute

Published

on

T1 left its League of Legends team in the dark, according to a press conference with general manager Choi “Polt” Seong-hun.

The organization failed to inform its players of mid-season coaching staff changes until one day prior to the announcement, it was revealed today.

“I thought it would not be a good impact on the players to directly ask the players [about the coaching changes],” Polt said, according to a translation by Korizon’s Ashley Kang. “Therefore, I did not ask the players these questions.”

Yang “Daeny” Dae-in and Lee “Zefa” Jae-min were released from the organization on Wednesday, June 14 following a poor record in the 2021 LCK Summer Split. “We are making this change at this point in an effort to reinvigorate our team’s chances of success with eight games remaining,” T1 said in a statement on social media.

The decision, according to Polt, came down to the “opinions” of the players and his “experience” as a professional gamer. “Based on my experience, and what I saw [in the team], I thought this was the best decision,” he said.

After a “thorough decision-making process,” T1 decided to let go of Daeny and Zefa “earlier this week.” according to Polt. The players were notified as late as Tuesday, July 13. “I believe it was better to come to a decision now rather than later,” he said

The coaches, who were leading scrims with the team up to Monday, July 12, and who were described as “great individuals” who “worked hard,” have been replaced by assistant coaches Kim “Moment” Ji-hwan and Son “Stardust” Seok-hee.

“For now, Stardust and Moment will lead the team,” Polt said. “For now, no plans to hire a new head coach.”

The players were “surprised” to hear about the coaching staff changes, according to Polt. “It was the first time they were being told about this,” he said. “But they quickly tried to recover and are working hard in scrims.”

Ultimately, the decision to fire Daeny and Zefa was determined by “upper management” in the organization.

“The final decision was made after discussing with colleagues, or let’s say, ‘upper management’ in the org,” Polt said. “I can tell you the party I was directly communicating to [was CEO] Joe Marsh.”

All ranked mode rewards for Pokémon UNITE: Season 1

Published

on

Pokémon UNITE features different types of rewards for every game mode available in the game, with most being awarded right after a match ends. However, for ranked mode, most of the best rewards won’t actually be available until the end of an ongoing season.

Players who enter ranked mode in a MOBA title are typically more confident in their abilities and are looking to play in games with players who are also looking to improve and test themselves against others.

UNITE uses a seasonal approach to its ranked mode, meaning players will have a set amount of time to climb through the six individual ranks, trying to reach Master Rank by the end of that season.

The ranked mode rewards will be split into two distinct parts, one overarching reward that players can work towards and is mostly about improving while playing games, while the other is based on your highest rank achieved during that season. And this doesn’t take into account the various missions that require playing ranked mode to claim bonuses too.

So if you plan on competing in ranked mode for and period of time, and potentially plan on trying to climb the ranks, here are all of the ranked rewards for Unite’s first ranked season.

Are there ranked rewards in Pokémon UNITE?

Published

on

Pokémon UNITE has multiple game modes for players to pick from in order to control what type of experience they will have with the MOBA. For most players, this will end up with getting a squad together and jumping into ranked matchmaking once they learn the basics of the game.

Ranked is where players can go to challenge themselves against players trying to improve themselves, and typically features more coordinated strategy, higher-level gameplay, and closer matches overall.

Because this mode is considered to be the more competitive battleground for players, UNITE has six distinct ranks that players can reach, with five of them also having multiple classes within the rank to differentiate skill levels during the climb. Starting with Beginner: Class 1, players will work to grind Performance Points, which will help them reach the next rank and match up with even better players.

Like with most games, UNITE does have rewards that will be given out to players who participate and grind ranks in ranked mode, with those rewards being given out at the end of every ranked season. You can check the current season’s rewards by hitting the X Button when sitting in the ranked lobby and then selecting “Season Rewards.”

Starting with ranked season one, it appears that every player will get some special rewards just for participating in at least 20 ranked matches. After that, there will be scaling rewards based on a player’s highest rank achieved during a season.

You can expect all of the rewards to change when a new season begins, with TiMi Studio and The Pokémon Company sharing more details in the game when that happens.
