Santa Clarita-based landscaping firm Stay Green Inc. has been recognized in a national, industry-wide competition, bringing home awards for its outstanding landscaping work and employee safety practices.

The Stay Green team earned a total of seven awards from the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP), which recognizes the nation’s best landscaping projects and companies through its annual Awards of Excellence program. The awards were presented at the NALP’s annual meeting and expo in Louisville, Kentucky.

“These awards are a tribute to every one of our 500 team members, and we are proud that our team has been recognized not only for providing excellent landscaping services to our clients, but also continuing to do so with safety as a priority,” Stay Green CEO Chris Angelo said.

Angelo added: “We take great pride in delivering first-class services to each of our clients. And, our employees are a part of our family and their well-being matters immensely to us. We will always do whatever it takes to keep them safe. The NALP awards recognize that we are achieving both goals.”

Stay Green is being honored with the silver award for Overall Safety Achievement, in addition to one silver and five bronze Awards of Excellence recognizing the company’s excellence in commercial landscape, landscape installation, maintenance and design.

The silver landscaping award was for Stay Green’s service to University Village (Thousand Oaks), and the bronze awards recognized excellence in landscaping for Brock Villas Homeowners Association (Santa Clarita), Four Seasons (Bakersfield), Icon (Playa Vista), Moss Creek Apartments (Anaheim) and Mission Garden Apartments (Riverside).
For the safety award, Stay Green Inc. was evaluated on number of accidents, number of days that employees were away from work, and number of employee injuries and illnesses. In addition, a checklist was used to rate the company’s complete safety program.

“The continuing COVID-19 work environment poses challenges every day, and to receive the award for employee safety, for the second year in a row, when times have been so uncertain and safety has been everyone’s highest priority, means the world to us,” Angelo said.

The safety award, part of NALP’s annual Safety Recognition Awards Program, honors those companies with thorough, high-performing safety programs that create and maintain safe work environments in the lawn and landscape industry. It is designed to reward lawn and landscape companies that consistently demonstrate their commitment to safety.

“These honors speak volumes not just about our safety at Stay Green, but also about the care that we have for our team and our clients,” Angelo said. “Whether it is in our client services, tree trimming technique, or in our safety practices, we are always looking for ways of improving to better serve our community and our team. These awards show that our efforts are truly making a difference.”

The National Association of Landscape Professionals (http://www.LandscapeProfessionals.org) represents an industry that employs nearly 1 million landscaping, lawn care, irrigation and tree care professionals who create and maintain healthy green spaces for the benefit of society and the environment.
