Eleven passengers and crew members on Delta Air Lines flight DL175 from Milan Malpensa, Italy and Atlanta, United States were taken to hospital. The incident happened on Tuesday, 29 August. Shortly after the safe landing of the Airbus A350-900 (registered N576DZ), emergency services rushed to the aircraft.
The aircraft was carrying 151 passengers and 14 crew members and was situated about 40 miles northeast of Atlanta when the turbulence occurred.
The extent of injuries was not immediately clear.
