Ripple Announces the Rebranding of Its Two Products

Major crypto exchange Ripple has recently announced some major changes in two of its products. The two products, Xpring and Ripple for Good, have been re-branded as RippleX and Ripple Impact. This has been revealed by the exchange through its blog post on October 05, 2020. Not only this, but the firm has also gone through several leadership changes. Ethan Beard, senior vice president of Xpring, has left the firm recently.

Xpring was the Investment Arm of Ripple Originally

The firm has made several new organizational changes after the departure of Ethan Beard. Monica Long, who joined Ripple as the director of communications several years back is now promoted as the general manager of RippleX. Originally, Xpring acted as an investment arm of the exchange. However, it has shifted its focus towards developing the XRPL ledger. 

Beard has also tweeted about his departure by saying that he has left the firm because of his plans to start a new venture. However, he also mentioned that he is not moving away from the XRP ecosystem. 

Company is Focused on Building Instead of Disrupting

A lot of executives of the exchange have been reshuffled recently. Asheesh Birla, who joined the firm seven years ago when it was just a startup, will now look after the blockchain-powered cross-border payment network, RippleNet. Brad Garlinghuse, CEO of Ripple has mentioned that the company is focused towards building and not disrupting. He said, “Ripple is evolving, but our core mission remains – we’re builders, not disruptors.” This is not the first time that Garlinghouse has made this kind of statement as earlier also he has said things like this. Back in June, the exchange was seen on CNBC’s Disruptor 50 list. During that time, he has mentioned that the main aim of his firm is to enable things instead of breaking them.
