The waterfront Queensland home of 4 Ingredients author Kim McCosker has sold for $4.1 million.

Located at Pelican Waters on the Sunshine Coast, the stunning residence was sold by McGrath Caloundra on May 4.

Prior to its sale, Ms McCosker said 39 books had been created at the home over the past 15 years, with many of the recipes tried and tested in its chic kitchen.

“It has a healthy, smart, creative vibe about it,” she said of the property.

“It just nourishes your creative soul.”

Ms McCosker and her husband Glen Turnbull purchased the stunning architecturally-designed residence back in 2008 for $1.83 million, according to property records.

On a north-facing 1068sq m waterfront block, the six bedroom residence features soaring ceilings and walls of glass that let the light flow in.

The pool area

Spread over two levels, the house is split into wings, with a portico and grand entrance opening into the front wing, which includes three bedrooms, a children’s retreat with access to the covered pool area, a bathroom, powder room and laundry.

Towards the rear of the house and over the internal Venetian bridge is where you will find the open plan kitchen, dining and living area, which opens onto the waterside entertaining area.

There is also a home theatre in this wing.

Where many of the recipes were tested for the books

Upstairs, the front wing consists of two more bedrooms, a guest retreat and a bathroom, while the rear wing with water views is dedicated to the vast master retreat, which includes a dressing room, a spa ensuite, kitchenette and home office.

Also included in the sale was a Yamaha FX Waverunner Jetski and ‘Sunday’, a 28ft pontoon boat that Ms McCosker said would be hard to say goodbye too.

The family have bought a new property in Caloundra.
