Ratae Bureau in AC Valhalla is the location of one of the armor pieces scattered in the game’s expansive map. Armor is a critical item that provides numerous stats boosts for Eivor and enhances a stealthy playstyle. There are five armor pieces available to hunt in A Brief History of The Hidden Ones quest. One of them is Hidden Ones’ Gloves. This piece of armor can be found in an underground passage Ratae Bureau in Ledecestre, the main city of Ledecestrescire, covered in rubble. Ratae Bureau is one of the six Bureaus that Eivor needs to find in the game.

Here are the walkthrough to get the armor:

• Head to the northeast area of Ledecestre, marked with gear icon. Find a floor with Assassin’s Creed logo. The place is surrounded by columns.

• Hop on top the columns.

• Look around for a giant pile of rubbles inside a hanging net.

• Shoot the shiny top part of the contraption. It will result in the rocks collapsing.

• Descend through the hole to reach Ratae Bureau.

• Pick up the Hidden Ones’ Gloves in a chest near the Codex page.

Leicestershire is home to wealth and loot. Aside from gears and armors, players will have to roam around Leicestershire for its books, cargo, and ingots.

New Wild Area Event begins in Pokémon Sword and Shield starring shiny Solrock and Lunatone

Published

on

Pokémon Sword and Shield have just begun their latest Wild Area Max Raid Event, and this week, it stars two astronomy-themed Pokémon who will be available both in regular and shiny variants.

Starring in the event is Lunatone and Solrock who will appear in Max Raid Battles for the next three days until midnight Sunday.

Unlike other events, these will be the only two Pokémon available in all-tier of raid battle. Shiny Variants will begin appearing in five-star raids. While it can be subtle, you’ll notice whether Lunatone is shiny or not depending on the color of its eye. Red is the regular color, while Blue indicates a shiny variant.

For Solrock, the difference is glaringly obvious as in its regular form Solrock has an orange face and its shiny variant has bright red.

Outside of these two Pokémon, there aren’t any other unique changes to the Wild Area this week. If you are looking to collect shiny Pokémon, don’t miss this opportunity to tick two off of your list before the weekend is out.

Apex pros, streamers call on Respawn to extend ranked split following server issues

Published

on

The end of Apex Legends’ first Emergence ranked split is just around the corner. But after recent server issues put a halt to many players’ ranked climbs, a number of prolific streamers and pro players are asking the game’s developer to extend the split to make up for lost time.

Respawn Entertainment shared an update today about the ongoing issues with Apex’s server stability, saying several fixes are scheduled for tomorrow but problems could remain until the start of the next week. Following Respawn’s statement, several Apex pro players and streamers—including LuluLuvely, NiceWigg, and Rogue—addressed these server issues, asking the developer to extend the ranked split past its original Sept. 21 end date.

“Lets get a ranked extension Apex, people are wanting to achieve some ranks,” Apex pro and streamer Rogue said. “This is probably frustrating for them, people don’t play everyday- it’s the least you could do!”

Server issues began Sept. 14 when the Evolution event went live with exclusive cosmetics, a new point-of-interest on World’s Edge, several balance changes, and an Heirloom weapon for Rampart. Soon after the event hit live servers, players began reporting connectivity issues. Many were kicked from their games, leading to AFK penalties or losses in ranked points, or were simply unable to connect to the game’s lobby.

Disconnections, long loading times, and an assortment of error codes are just some of the issues that have historically plagued the battle royale following major updates. These issues often occur after event patches due to various causes that could be linked to the update’s content or to the multitude of players all simultaneously attempting to connect to servers to enjoy the game’s latest content. But as the ranked split nears its end, these kinds of issues are creating more than just in-game problems as players struggle to meet their goals for the first half of the season.

Without an extension, split one will end on Sept. 21, meaning players have just a few more days to round out their ranked climbs before their rank is soft reset. Split two will kick off afterward on Kings Canyon and will run through the end of the season.

Like previous seasons, ranked rewards will be handed out to players based on their highest placement from the two splits. If a player ranks Diamond in the first split but only reaches Platinum in the second, they’ll still receive the Diamond rewards, including the badge and the skydive trail, at the end of the season.

Apex pros and streamers have previously used their platforms to call on Respawn developers to address other issues, including the game’s struggles with cheaters. Earlier this summer, Apex players asked Respawn to have a heavier hand in upholding the integrity of the game’s ranked ecosystem. Last June, the hashtag #SaveApexRanked trended as voices in the scene asked for the developer to further discourage cheaters and griefers who purposely ruin the ranked experience.

“Streamers ability to consistently make content while playing ranked, and the general quality of life of anyone who plays ranked at a high level across any region has been declining and fast,” NRG content creator sweetdreams said in a Twitlonger. “We are so done with it, it’s to the point where we literally DO NOT know what to do, we just sit around month over month and nothing changes and it’s demoralizing.”

In addition to causing ranked woes, these recent server outages have prevented players from fully enjoying the newest event and its offerings. The Evolution event introduces 24 new cosmetic items, including legend and weapon skins, gun charms, banner poses, and skydive emotes. Additionally, Rampart is opening up a shop called Big Maude near Lava City in World’s Edge. Featuring a paintball course, the new shop allows players to purchase custom modded paintball weapons from vending machines at various tiers.

Apex‘s Evolution event is slated to end Sept. 28. While the event is live, players can earn rewards for free by simply playing games, completing missions, and racking up points in the event’s rewards track—if the servers allow it.

How to fix Authentication has Failed Error in Rocket League

Published

on

Rocket League is one of the more accessible competitive games to pick up, and when you get the hang of it, you’ll only want to get better at the game to improve your ranking.

Even if you play during off-hours, you should find a match within a few minutes unless the servers are down, preventing players from logging into the game. When Rocket League is going through maintenance or the servers just go down due to unforeseeable situations, players may receive errors such as the Authentication has failed error.

While this error doesn’t give any further explanation, it usually occurs when the game is unable to reach the servers to authenticate your account details. Once you see the Authentication has failed error, you’ll automatically exit from the game and return to your home screen. If you were itching to get your daily dose of Rocket League, these kinds of errors can be annoying, but there are a few troubleshooting methods you can try out to fix the error by yourself.

Here’s how you can fix the Authentication has failed error.

Check the server status of Rocket League and your gaming platform

Before you try out any troubleshooting method, you should check if the servers are down or not. If the servers are down, not a single troubleshooting method will be able to fix the error for you since you’ll need either Psyonix or your console developer to fix the error.

You can check out Epic Games’ dedicated server status website, which also lists Rocket League. If the Rocket League servers are down, the game may be unreachable on all gaming platforms, causing you to receive the Authentication has failed error.

If you’re a console player and Rocket League servers are fine, but you’re still receiving this error, you should check out the server status of your platform. PlayStation players can check out the network status of PSN through here, while Xbox fans can check on all the systems here.

Nintendo players can visit the official server status page of Nintendo. If the servers are down on your gaming platform, you’ll need to wait for them to come back online.

During times like these, keeping an eye on Rocket League’s Twitter page and community hubs like Reddit can be key since you can run into community members who can be kind enough to share alternative solution methods to fix the error for them. Developers also tend to keep the fans updated through these platforms when there’s a widespread issue causing players to receive the Authentication has failed error in Rocket League.

Restart Rocket League

Image via Psyonix

If all servers are operational, but you’re still receiving the Authentication has failed error in Rocket League, the chances are it may have been a temporary bug. Restarting the game will allow you to try one more time again and if the first time was just a fluke, you should be to log in to Rocket League.

PC players should also check out the Task Manager to make sure that there isn’t a Rocket League-related process running in the background.

Restart your router

Another reason for this error could be a connectivity issue that may have something to do with your home network. When your internet service provider has a network problem, it can affect your home connection and cause you to receive various errors like the Authentication has failed error in Rocket League.

Once you restart your router, you’ll be assigned a new route of connection between you and your ISP which will do the same when you try to log into Rocket League.

If the Authentication has failed error was due to a network hiccup, then a simple modem reset should be enough to fix it.

As a more extreme measure, you can also give a call to your ISP and ask if there are any problems on their side. Your ISP will be able to run a full diagnostic on your network, and they can pick up on errors that you wouldn’t be able to detect otherwise.

Submit a support ticket to Psyonix

If the servers are up and you still get the Authentication has failed error despite trying every solution method, then it may be time to contact Psyonix’s help desk.

Submit a ticket to Psyonix and explain the error that’s been preventing you from logging in to Rocket League. Provide screengrabs or even a video since they can speed up the process. If the error persists for you, the chances there’s either an outage that’s affecting your area or there may be something wrong with your game files that only the support team can find out.

Regardless of the situation, you should receive a reply within a few days depending on the time of the year and how busy the support team is. The reply you’ll receive is likely to include additional troubleshooting methods you can try or the support team may have already fixed the issue on their side that was causing the error to appear.

When there’s a server outage, it may take a few hours for all systems to become operational again. Players who’d like to spend this time proactive but can’t step away from Rocket League can try watching guides on YouTube and try learning new tricks to improve their gameplay. The next time you’re online, you’ll be able to try out all the new in-game mechanics you’ve learned while the servers are down, which can help you push up your ranking a little.

Report: Lawyers representing Riot Games employees claim DFEH is interfering with Riot lawsuit

Published

on

Lawyers representing the women who sued Riot Games in 2018 for allegedly perpetuating gender discrimination and harassment are claiming the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) is interfering with the lawsuit, according to a report from The Esports Observer’s James Fudge.

Specifically, the attorneys allege the DFEH is trying to remove one of their clients, Gabriela Downie, from the suit, citing “what is effectively a movement for summary judgment against Plaintiff Downie on the issue of standing.”

The lawyers claimed this to be a “blatant attempt by the DFEH to gain absolute power over the course of this litigation by removing the women who have come forward to prosecute this action as Plaintiffs.”

Additionally, the attorneys say the DFEH has “attempted to dissuade women working at Activision/Blizzard from speaking with private counsel” in another lawsuit with allegations of discrimination against women in the workplace.

In November 2018, former female employees of Riot Games filed a class-action lawsuit against the game publisher, alleging women at the company were subjected to unequal pay, harassment, and that they have had “their careers stifled because they are women.”

The two parties agreed to a settlement of $10 million before the DFEH stepped in, alleging the initial settlement figure was too low and recommended it be increased to at least $400 million, according to the LA Times.
