PUBG celebrates 70 million sold copies and Sanhok rework

Date:

PUBG Corporation celebrates the massive selling of its battle royale, PlayerUnknown’s Battleground. The corporation has now sold 70 million copies of PUBG, equivalent to roughly $210 million. This milestone was achieved through multiple platforms like PC (Steam), Xbox One, Playstation 4, and Google Stadia. To commemorate the massive achievement, PUBG Corporation released a reworked Sanhok map with PUBG Season 8. The upcoming season debuts on Steam on July 22 for PC players and July 30 for Xbox One, Playstation 4, and Google Stadia.

PUBG Reworked Sanhok Map

PUBG Season 8’s newest reworked map will bring players to a humid and muddy jungle. Every aspect within the environment for Sanhok saw reworks. With feedback from players, multiple locations found changes to improve Sanhok. The most significant include hot drop changes, like Boot Camp, Ruins, Pai Nan, Khao, and Quarry. All of these popular locations have received significant updates.

Although certain places changed, there are new locations like tourist town Getaway and boot camp Airfield. Besides these new locations, the map holds other untold places, hidden mysteries, and secret spots for players to explore for themselves.

PUBG Season 8 Features

Season 8 brings many new features and game-changing opportunities. One that most players are excited about is the Loot Truck. The Loot Truck is an autonomous cargo transport that offers players a new way to load-out. Players can get loot from these trucks by damaging them. The more damage a player deals, the more loot will drop, and the rarity and level will increase. Those who destroy Loot Trucks see Confiscated Weapons drop. Confiscated Weapons are fully geared weapons with pre-installed attachments and unique cosmetic wraps.

Jerry Cans also see significant improvements to give players an advantage when needed. To use improved Jerry Cans, players can spill the fuel on the ground, set a heated trap, or throw the utility at a player and light it up.

Besides game features, a new season brings a new battle pass and theme. PUBG Season 8’s Survivor Pass is Payback, featuring an array of cosmetics that complement the newly reworked Sanhok color pallets and overall jungle theme. As for the ranked season, Vikendi moved back into the ranked pool and Rank Acquisition takes team placements into account.

Another Milestone

Overall, PUBG Corporation did an excellent job scaling its game despite the massive battle royale crowd that follows its lead. PUBG itself has been the stepping stone for multiple battle royale giants in the gaming industry, which proves the significance of the game. Despite PUBG competing against popular titles like Fortnite, it still hasn’t backed down. Even now, PUBG is still a colossal giant in the battle royale genre of the gaming industry.

Because 70 million copies sold, it looks like the popular game will remain for a long time. PUBG Season 8 debuts on July 22 for PC and July 30 for Xbox One, Playstation 4, and Google Stadia.
