Post Malone Kicks Off Horizon Block Party With VR Concert on July 15

Date:

It’s going to be a busy few months in Horizon Worlds on Meta Quest 2. The first-ever Horizon Block Party, a summer-long series of virtual performances and community activities, starts next week. And we’re excited to announce that nine-time Grammy-nominated artist Post Malone will be kicking off the event with an immersive performance on July 15.

Post Malone’s Twelve Carat Toothache: A VR Experience celebrates the singer-songwriter’s newest studio album, and it’ll feature special appearances from The Kid Laroi, Fleet Foxes, and Roddy Ricch. The pre-recorded show will loop three times on July 15 in Venues in Horizon Worlds starting at 6:00 pm PT.

“I’m pumped for the fans to have this VR experience of Twelve Carat Toothache,” says Post Malone. “We put so much work into this to make it as incredible as possible. Thank you to everyone who helped bring this to life.”

The unique production was developed for VR first with set design, practical effects, and camera framing tailored for 180 display. Captured in 8K, this is the highest resolution and fidelity for a musical performance on the platform to date and the first major tentpole event in Horizon Worlds.

People 18+ in the US, Canada, and UK who have a Quest 2 can check out Post Malone’s Twelve Carat Toothache: A VR Experience in Venues in Horizon Worlds—you can RSVP to the concert here. A 2D version will also be broadcasted on Facebook Watch through Meta’s and Post Malone’s Facebook pages, as well as on Messenger and Instagram via Watch Together.

Those who can’t catch the VR version live can see the replay later via an Always On room in Venues in Horizon Worlds or on Oculus TV, where it’ll be available until 11:59 pm PT on September 30.
