PlayStation organized the State of Play recently, and despite being one of the second most-watched events ever, fans are quite disappointed with it.

After the release of Horizon Forbidden West, fans have been eagerly waiting for more information regarding what’s next for Playstation. God of War Ragnarok has a release window set for this year as well, but we are yet to get an exact release date for the same. With the E3-season here (without E3 this time), a number of developers have been organizing conferences to give fans an insight into their upcoming plans.

PlayStation led the charge this time around by being one of the first ones to organize a showcase. The State of Play featured games like Resident Evil 4 Remake, Resident Evil 8 VR Edition, Horizon Call of the Mountain, and a plethora of other titles including some indies. The event became the second most-watched State of Play of all time by amassing over 2.3 million views. The first place is held by the Horizon Forbidden West State of Play, which has over 2.7 million views.

Despite that, it seems like fans are not quite happy with the showcase, and have called it one of the least exciting lineups ever. There are numerous comments on the video as well which state that the State of Play was worse than what they had expected. Part of the reason why fans were actually disappointed with the showcase was maybe because of the absence of God of War Ragnarok. However, considering the scale of the game, it does make a lot of sense for them to have a dedicated State of Play for it.

While this might be slightly below expectations, PlayStation is going to have one of the biggest years in 2023, with a series of highly anticipated titles lined for release. Until then, God of War Ragnarok is all fans are waiting for.
