Hyderabad-based XDLINX Labs Private Ltd., a prominent developer of nano and microsatellite platforms, has recently announced a significant partnership with the US-based Almagest Space Corporation. This collaboration is poised to embark on a pioneering mission to revolutionize space communication through the deployment of the world’s first miniaturized space-grade E-band communication payload. This technology, developed by XDLINX for Almagest, will be integrated into the XDSAT-NS satellite, marking a crucial step forward in the utilization of E-band frequencies for ultra-speed broadband services in low-earth-orbit (LEO).

The Elevation mission, as it is aptly named, will leverage the capabilities of Antaris Space’s Cloud Software Platform and SatOS onboard software, showcasing the potential for high-throughput data delivery in space. This mission not only underscores the innovative spirit of XDLINX and its partners but also sets the groundwork for Almagest’s ambitious project to establish a global LEO two-way optically-connected satellite network. Such a network promises to deliver data services with unprecedented speed and capacity, meeting the ever-growing global demand for robust and high-capacity communication systems.

XDLINX’s collaboration extends to Ananth Technologies Ltd., an India-based aerospace technology firm, further bolstering the mission’s foundation with extensive expertise in systems manufacturing and Satellite AIT (Assembly, Integration, and Testing). This partnership underscores a collective effort to push the boundaries of current space communication technologies and pave the way for next-generation connectivity solutions.

Rupesh Gandupalli, CEO and Co-founder of XDLINX, expressed pride in leading the initiative to exploit the transformative potential of E-band technology. This endeavor is not merely about advancing technological capabilities but also about redefining the future of global connectivity and ushering in a new era of space communication.

On the software side, Tom Barton, CEO and Co-Founder of Antaris, highlighted the significance of the Elevation mission as a testament to the versatility and efficiency of the Antaris Space Software platform. This collaboration illustrates the platform’s ability to facilitate rapid mission timelines, a crucial factor in the fast-paced world of space technology.

Dr. Subba Rao Pavuluri, Chairman and Managing Director of Ananth Technologies, also shared his enthusiasm for being part of this innovative project. The collaboration with XDLINX and Almagest on the Elevation mission represents a novel approach to space missions, combining expertise from different sectors to achieve a common goal.

Almagest’s CEO and Co-founder, Raghu Das, shed light on the strategic importance of the Elevation mission within the broader context of Almagest’s vision. The mission is the first step toward establishing a robust global constellation that promises to deliver high-throughput services anywhere in the world. Das emphasized the rapid acceleration of space-based E-band technologies as a response to the global demand for high-capacity, cost-effective data transmission solutions. The TwinStar mission, set for 2025-2026, will mark the beginning of commercial service, laying the groundwork for a phased deployment of a multi-satellite global constellation.
