Pictured – Inside the Midlands’ biggest cannabis farms

Date:

Dodgy wiring, deadly booby traps and millions of pounds in cannabis – this is what was found inside some of the region’s biggest drug farms.

West Midlands Police teams have raided houses, pubs and even a former Conservative Club as they smash big-money drug dens.

But some of these hidden and often dangerous places have sinister contraptions to keep officers from getting in – including a door laced with barbed wire.

Shocking images from inside the set-ups show rows of large potted plants thriving beneath artificial lamps.

A network of wires and large silver ducting tubes can be seen above the plants, along with fans to regulate the temperature inside the growhouse.

These are some of the biggest busts so far this year:

An astonishing 1,000 cannabis plants, said to be nearing maturity and worth around £1 million, were found by officers carrying out the emergency warrant on the address.
