Total active drilling rigs in the U.S. rose by 4 to 623, Baker Hughes reported Friday in its weekly rig count.
Drilling rigs targeting crude oil in the U.S. were unchanged for the second consecutive week at 499, while gas rigs added 4 to 121 and 3 rigs remained classified as miscellaneous.
Rigs targeting crude oil in the Permian Basin and the Eagle Ford both stayed flat at 307 and 48, respectively.
