Vandaag Visa aangekondigd een nieuwe reeks betalingsmogelijkheden genaamd Visa Commercial Pay. Dit is een reeks B2B-betalingstools gericht op bedrijven.

Onderdeel van de productsuite is de mogelijkheid om virtuele bedrijfskaarten toe te voegen aan de digitale portemonnee van werknemers, zoals Apple Pay of Google Pay. Dit biedt meer gedetailleerde controle over de uitgaven van werknemers, omdat de virtuele kaart voor bepaalde limieten bij specifieke verkopers kan worden ingericht.

Dit is geen nieuw idee. B2B-betalingsbedrijven zoals Ramp en Brex hebben de mogelijkheid ontwikkeld om op deze manier virtuele bedrijfskaarten uit te geven, maar nu biedt Visa deze mogelijkheid standaard aan. 

Hun eerste bankpartner voor deze technologie is Regions Bank in de VS. Visa rolt deze verbeterde betalingsmogelijkheden ook uit naar de Latijns-Amerikaanse en Caribische regio.

Hoewel fintech voor veel innovatie op het gebied van bedrijfsuitgaven heeft gezorgd, is het gemakkelijk om te vergeten dat deze mogelijkheden voor het grootste deel niet zijn uitgebreid naar traditionele banken. Visa wil daar verandering in brengen.
