Dr. Lily (Lidong) Chen, a distinguished mathematician and NIST fellow, is set to speak at the upcoming IQT conference in The Hague, bringing her extensive expertise in cryptography and network security to the forefront of the quantum technology discussion. Dr. Chen’s career at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has been marked by significant achievements, including her tenure as the manager of the Cryptographic Technology Group for over a decade before being named a NIST fellow in 2023.

At the conference, Dr. Chen will share insights from her pioneering work in developing cryptographic standards, a critical area in the era of quantum computing. Her leadership in creating post-quantum cryptography standards has positioned her as a key figure in the field, addressing the challenges posed by quantum computing to current cryptographic methods. Dr. Chen’s contributions extend to developing standards published in Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) and NIST Special Publications (SP), which are fundamental to ensuring secure and reliable information processing and communication systems.

Her research interests, encompassing cryptography, network security, and security in communications, reflect the evolving landscape of digital security in a quantum world. Dr. Chen’s involvement with IEEE-SA, ISO, and other standards organizations highlights her active role in shaping the future of cryptographic and security standards globally. Additionally, her co-authored book “Communication System Security” has been influential in academia, serving as a key textbook in many universities.

At IQT The Hague, attendees can expect Dr. Chen to delve into the complexities of developing cryptographic solutions resilient against quantum threats and the ongoing standardization efforts that will underpin future communication systems’ security. Her session promises to be an enlightening exploration of the intersection between advanced cryptography and quantum technology, offering a glimpse into the future of secure communication in a post-quantum era.

IQT The Hague 2024 is the Netherlands’ fifth global conference and exhibition. The Hague is a Quantum Technology Event focusing on Quantum Networking and Quantum Security. Ten vertical topics encompassing more than 40 panel talks from over 100 speakers will provide attendees with a deep understanding of state-of-the-art developments of the future quantum internet and the current impact of quantum-safe technologies on cybersecurity and quantum computers.

The conference brings together corporate management, entrepreneurs, end users, technology providers, infrastructure partners, researchers, and investors working on current developments. IQT The Hague is organized by 3DR Holdings, IQT Research, QuTech, QIA (Quantum Internet Alliance), and Quantum Delta, who will bring leading organizations and professionals together in this important event. The April conference is “in-person” to ensure maximum networking and discussion will take place at the Postillion Hotel & Convention Centre in The Hague.
