Down a meandering path and shrouded by trees, this quirky house looks like it belongs in a fairy tale’s enchanted forest.
The 1986-built Nairne A-frame house at 694 Old Princes Highway is offering househunters a unique place to call home.
Its design makes it stand out from others in the area, but it’s the character charm inside that makes it so special.

A spiral staircase with thick rope as a handrail, tree trunks serving as focal points across the ground floor and a slow combustion wood oven are among its highlights.
Selling agent Nathan Watts, of Sexton Glover Watts, said it was one of a handful of hidden gems in the area.
“The setting ties it all together – it’s a little bit like a fairy tale,” he said.
“We’ve had huge interest, we’ve already received a couple of offers too.
“We’ve got people who are young and starting out, people who have got trades and want to modify it and some more senior in years who want the space and privacy.”
The house, which is on a 1.06ha block, spans three storeys and has four bedrooms.
An open kitchen, dining and living room, as well as a bathroom and laundry are on the ground floor.
Three bedrooms are on the second level with a living area in the middle, while the fourth bedroom is in the loft.
Surrounded by a lush garden with a creek running through the property, it also has a freestanding carport, chook run and wood shed, and a studio or workshop.
Mr Watts said while it felt private and secluded, it was still close to the Nairne township.
“It offers the best of both worlds – you’ve got this private rural setting but you’re right across the road from the shopping centre,” he said.
The property is being sold via a best offers campaign, which closes at noon on September 14.
According to property records, it last sold in July 2014 for $465,000.
Latest PropTrack data shows Nairne’s median house price is $637,750, which has climbed 41.7 per cent in the past year.
