In a bid to help those interested in learning more about the gaming and esports space, Misfits Gaming Group (MGG) has partnered with Intel to create a new grassroots esports program called the Misfits Academy. The Misfits Academy will be a competitive series of recurring events with a focus on finding “emerging stars” of the industry on stage, on camera, and behind the scenes. 

The academy will focus on key areas in the industry such as competitive gaming, content creation, graphic design, and video editing. Each month, one area will see a competition with winners chosen to receive a short-term contract to work at MGG in their specialized field.

The academy held its first round of competition in January to find Fortnite players Players who came out on top joined MGG and have been part of the organization for the past few months.

In February, a graphic design and video editing competition was also held, with the winners integrated into the in-house creative team at MGG.
