Dr. Mira L. Wolf-Bauwens, the Responsible Quantum Computing Lead within the Responsible & Inclusive Technologies Team at IBM Research, will present an enlightening perspective on the ethical dimensions and social implications of quantum computing at the April IQT the Hague conference. As an IBM Quantum Technical Ambassador, Dr. Wolf-Bauwens combines her profound technical knowledge with a deep commitment to ensuring that quantum computing advances in a manner that is both responsible and inclusive.
With an impressive background that spans normative analysis, strategy and business consulting, development cooperation, startup leadership, and digitalization, Dr. Wolf-Bauwens is uniquely positioned to address the complex challenges at the intersection of emerging technologies and societal values. Her Ph.D. in Political Philosophy from the University of Zurich, supplemented by Visiting Research Fellowships at Columbia University and the University of Oxford, has provided her with a solid foundation for critically examining the institutional recognition and normative evaluation of emerging technologies. These experiences have helped her succeed at her current position within IBM Research.
At the conference, Dr. Wolf-Bauwens is expected to delve into the principles and practices underpinning responsible quantum computing, using her work at IBM Research as an example. IQT The Hague 2024 is the Netherlands’ fifth global conference and exhibition. The Hague is a Quantum Technology Event focusing on Quantum Networking and Quantum Security.
