How does a country like Italy bounce back from the ravages of the Covid -19 pandemic?
Italy, which was facing its fourth recession in 10 years before the corona virus struck, is clawing its economic way back.
The government of the city of Milan, one of the hardest hit areas in the north, has proposed that it would donate up to 60% up to a maximum of $67,000 (€60,000) to non-profits that crowdfund the other 40% (up to €100,000) to re-start their initiatives that deal with “persistent problems of social, economic, cultural and environmental hardship.”
The idea is to fund projects that will tackle new needs that arise in disadvantaged areas of the city that result from the pandemic.
Once vetted, the crowdfunding campaigns will be launched on Produzioni dal Basso and will end on July 31.
