Indonesia’s digital wallet platform LinkAja has chosen Indian software firm PureSoftware’s Arttha digital payments suite which will be powering the wallet provider’s core systems.
The move is said to be consistent with LinkAja’s goal to further expand and strengthen its market presence as a payment solutions provider in the Southeast Asian region.
The partnership with Arttha will allow LinkAja to improve the overall performance of its backend, enhance its digital growth strategy, while supporting greater financial inclusion in Indonesia.
LinkAja will aim to take advantage of Arttha’s Cloud-powered platform as a service solution for supporting its core functionalities – which includes account management, merchant management, transaction management, and real-time General Ledger (GL) solutions as well.
Arttha’s virtual payment solutions allow its clients to perform transactions on the go with the wallet platform’s wide range of payment options and financial services.
Arttha provides NFC and QR code-enabled proximity payments and multi-channel support as well.

Digital payments are increasingly being used in Indonesia to settle transactions, especially in a post-COVID environment. Like in many other countries, digital transformation in Indonesia may have accelerated due to the pandemic.
As reported in December 2020, ride hailing firm Grab, a diversified business that includes financial services, led a $100 million round for Indonesia’s LinkAja.
LinkAja was ranked among the highest (along with other digital wallets GOPAY, Dana, and OVO) with the most active users, according to a report from last year.
Many other Indonesian startups are now focused on supporting financial inclusion initiatives in Southeast Asian countries. Indonesian Fintech firm PAYFAZZ has invested $30 million into Singapore’s Xfers to promote the development of more inclusive financial services in the region.
