Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia stated on Wednesday that India’s civil aviation sector is anticipated to carry up to 400 million passengers over the next seven to ten years, highlighting the nation’s post-pandemic economic rebound.
On Wednesday in Goa, the Civil Air Navigation Services Organization (CANSO) Asia Pacific Conference was officially inaugurated by Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation General VK Singh.
Conference Theme:
The conference’s theme for this year is “Think Global, Collaborate Regional, Accomplish Local.”
In his online speech, Scindia noted that the conference had brought together professionals from the Asia Pacific region, which contributes to account for between 35% to 40% of all air traffic worldwide. In the next seven to ten years, the civil aviation industry in India is expected to carry almost 400 million passengers, according to Scindia.
General VK Singh (Ret.), the Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, remarked during his speech that the aviation sector supports an estimated 3.5 trillion dollars, or around 1.4% of World’s GDP. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic’s severe effects on the industry, he claimed that domestic recovery is now progressing globally. According to the Minister, the aviation sector in India has surpassed over 95% of pre-covid passenger volume.
Aviation Sector and Technology:
He noted that Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP) services are the core important aspects of aviation.
Singh urged the aviation sector to work together on technology. “In the future, airspace will expand as more flying objects, besides simply aircraft, enter the atmosphere. Therefore, we must deal with the most recent technologies, “the Union Minister continued.
